Question about items

This is something that has been bugging me since last era... are we allowed to use items, but modify their descriptions so they suit our characters better?

For example: I want to buy a set of armour for my kai character, but obviously a kai walking around in saiyan armour would seem a bit... off. Would it be alright, therefore, to alter the items appearance/description so it suited Lucrecia, but provide the same stat increases(eg: instead of Roya Armour, have some sort of "Grand Kai's gi", but which still provides the same boosts to constitution as the Royal Saiyan armour)

It's something that I've always been somewhat confused by, 'specially since among other things, it means half-a-dozen non-Freiza/saiyans would have items that may seem a little weird for them to have gotten their hands on, such as scouters. But, that said, most people want to use those, so... I'm wondering if renaming is, therefore, allowable, to make things more... character-specific, instead of generic.

I was thinking this myself in regards to having a Scouter. My character doesn't really fit a Scouter, but I can see some other way that I can covert it to some monkly symbol or something.

I'm gonna do it, 'cos I can't see any reason why anyone would object. As long as we're clear about what the item really is then I don't think there'll be a problem.

I guess it would be acceptable, as long as you included the name of the original item somewhere so we could know that it's simply modified.

Exactly what I thought would be the case. As long as we're clear about it, there shouldn't be a problem.
