Saga: The Sky is Burning

OOC- Allright, guys. We're nearing the end of the saga, and Island wants me to kick things up a notch. So BAM:



Having broken- and actually reversed -the illusion, Itachi relaxed himself, releasing the technique altogether. He sighed deeply before looking up to the sky and witnessing the little green men rain down from above. He couldn't help but stare in silent wonder, asking himself how he had not managed to notice it before. How had they tricked his Sharingan? There must've been something else. Yes, some trick. Or perhaps his eyes and simply not regained as much of their power as he had thought. Indeed, the Mangekyou Sharingan was still out of his grasp for the time being. But it was useless to think of such a thing at a time like this. As he stood there in thought, he was soon surrounded by hordes of the creatures, sneering from ear to ear as they moved in on him. He didn't budge even a hair out of place, and instead remained silent and erect in the face of the approaching enemy.

"Krii, kriiiii..." they chirped delightedly, brandishing a medly of claws and teeth as they staggered forth from every direction, "Kikikikikikiiii!"

One of the monsters took a step further, and suddenly halted in its tracks. The others ceased their laughter and shot curious glances at their comrade, wondering why the sudden change of heart. To their surprise, its face was stricken with a look of horror, and it let out a skin-peeling scream as it stared into the Uchiha's hard, menacing eyes.

"You are weak."

The Saibaman fell back on its haunches, crawling slowly and unsteadily away from the fearsome man. In response, the rest of the Saibamen began taking steps away, sensing that there was indeed danger present. For a moment, it seemed they might back down altogether. But this hope was shattered when one of them charged from behind, leaping into the air and stretching out its claw to swipe. Now a little more encouraged, the rest began to join in, charging with a chorus of howls and jumping overhead to rain down on the shinobi. Even as he stood against the overwhelming numbers, Itachi remained as placid as ever, a stray gust catching the bangs around his face and lifting them gently.

"Useless."

In a blinding flash, Itachi's hand went low to reach for something. The speed at which he moved could not be comprehended, let alone seen, and the only indication of movement at all was that of some pale elongation carving a streak in the surrounding air. In the blink of an eye, bloody green slices fell from the sky, littering the ground with what remained of the dozens of Saibamen. Standing amidst the carnage was Uchiha Itachi, who looked up calmly with a fierce look in his eye as he put back his cock sword.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Saibamen cried out in agony as their bodies were ravaged and destroyed by the other warriors. The landscape was riddled with a mess of green and stinking of some foul, otherworldly stench, baked to the highest potency by the onslaught of energy attacks that had been thrown around without discretion. Every last one of them was dead...or so it seemed. Behind Zechi, Raitro, and Corey, a Saibaman jumped from the shadows towards each, self-destructing as the reached close proximity and possibly killing their targets with them if they hadn't somehow avoided the attack.

Itachi surveyed the remains of the creatures with barely any interest as he stepped carefully over them. He couldn't help but wonder just what exactly they were, and there was still the question his mind posed of where those three from earlier had gone off to. His attention was drawn quickly as he saw the three warriors attacked in the distance, and his face grew firm with determination.

"This is a mockery. Who or whatever we're dealing with, they are no ordinary foe, and they seem to have planned this out a fair bit." Itachi muttered, his eyes turning quickly towards where Kyler was, "And that guy is back, but now he's helping us..."

All of a sudden, a stirring behind him drew his attention back to the fallen Saibamen. To his complete shock, their remains began to bubble and steam, boiling up and beginning to take some other shape. The material that had composed their bodies was now in liquid form and steadily rising, hardening into who knew what. As the strange blobs began to solidify, their true nature was revealed. Before Itachi stood even more Saibamen than before- exactly twice their numbers. And this time, they were bigger, with more elongated faces, spiked plating, larger fangs, and a darker green tint. The beasts cackled triumphantly and filled the air with their screeching. All around the battlefield, the same thing was happening: green globs made from the remains of the fallen creatures, morphing into these strange new versions of their predecessors. Examining their chakra with his Sharingan, Itachi could tell they were much stronger than before.

"What in the world...?" he uttered in disbelief, visibly astonished for the first time.

The Saibamen roared ferosciously, charging en masse towards whatever warriors were nearest to them, tearing up the ground as they ran.




OOC#2- The new Saibamen each have twice the PL they had before (was 1,200; now is 2,400). There are also twice as many of them as before.

This post cost me 500 Ki from my SL + Sharingan, and Speed Blur is still active.

Freon cursed as the Saibamen he'd destroyed melted and formed into new, stronger forms. There were now twice as many, and it didn't look good. He was right in the middle of them, only just keeping them at bay.

"The damn things'll get me if I'm not careful," he growled to himself. One scratched his cheek, and he smashed the offender far back into his comrades, but the group closed in ever more.

"I've had enough."

Freon gathered his energy; focusing it, refining it. Suddenly, he threw up a hand that buzzed with energy. The ground around him suddenly erupted in a frenzy of dirt and Ki. Saibamen were thrown back, clawing at the air and their brethren, some dead, some just recoiled.

But Freon wasn't done. Selecting the most confined group he could see, he threw his oither hand up, gathering Ki into a rough circular blade.

"Kienzan!" he cried, launching the attack at the Saibamen.

An odd-smelling reek compressed into liquid form spewed all over Insanus as his claws cleaved the saibamen in two. Their heads toppled off their bodies in a stunning moment of silence while out of no where, more saibamen appeared, twice the numbers before and double the power. Each jumped up, latching onto each other, attached directly to Insanus's screaming and foaming mouth. Their claws began to pry his lips open in hopes to destroy him from the inside. Lo and behold, an incredible burst of ki escaped with a large amount of spittle, spittle first, mouth blast last. Instantly the arms of one of the saibamen was gone, charred from the moment Insanus felt like coughing up some ki.

Once again, Zechi was disturbed from making a complete Death Ball. A Sabiaman had crept up behind him without his noticing and went for a final leap, trying to commit a kamikaze attack. The movement behind him caused Zechi to pivot around to see the Saibaman in mid-leap towards him. The seams around it’s body were glowing, obviously charging up its energy.

Zechi dove backwards, desperately trying to get some distance between him and the Saibaman. The glowing became more prominent a second before it exploded. Zechi sent out a shockwave, hoping to stop the force of the explosion. But the Saibaman’s self-destruction attack was stronger than Zechi in his current state. The explosion ripped through Zechi’s meager stalling attack and knocked Zechi away. He went flying straight into a wall of windows of an abandoned mall. The magnitude of Zechi striking the first pane of glass ruptured all the other windows a millisecond later.

A marble statue brought Zechi to a stop. The transfer of energy from stopping Zechi so abruptly sent cracked lines all throughout the majestic statue. Zechi fell forwards into a circle of water around the statue; a fountain. A droplet of water splashed out of the water from Zechi entering the fountain and hit the statue. The droplet of water sent the statue crumbling to the ground.

Zechi struggled to get his arms to hang onto the edge of the fountain and push himself up to look out towards the direction that he had forcefully entered the mall. Many vendor carts were strewed across the ground, the merchandise that someone once would have bought scattered everywhere.

“W-what the hell? Those things pack a punch.” Zechi said to himself. His sight had returned to normal; the water had cleaned all the blood on his body. However, he could see Saibaman entering the mall cautiously after Zechi.

The first explosions to the east of Krudule, halted his manic laughter "Huh...". He turned around to witness multiples of mutilated Sabiamen fall to the ground; circling the bohemian robed man.

He threw his clock into the air, as he did his Scouter picked up newer, greater power levels. Strangely enough the fallen creatures were forming greener, uglier, and stronger beasts of the night. He did not dismiss any of them from his keen sight. "By the great Hinokami" he wasn't aware Sabiamen had such grand capabilities. Yet this time he would have his turn. He planted his booted crimson right foot into the burnt dirt, closed his eyes and made his advance.

Krudule began to slowly walk towards his new targets, beneath his Scouter his eyes radiated a faint pallid light. At least two metres away from the real battlefeild; he seemed to shake of the strong force of his body by quivering his sheilded arms and performing rapid hand signs. Instantly two of the creatures fell to the ground lifeless....dead. Their bodies had been completey drained of their Ki, a thin visable stream of bright white light dispersed from their bodies drifting then dispearring into the air. Krudule didn't wholly understand what his technique had done, as he was shell shocked by it's awing result, although they were dead for sure. His whisper was almost voiceless "Yes Brother.....th..Seisou...attack..I did it" he almost dropped, fortunately he rested himself against a rock. Picking up himself he continued to walk forward into the fray. His pace slowed as it was obvious that his first outstanding assult had tired him greatly. Yet suddenly he began........to masterbate "Sike!!" run, at full pace. He moved across the desert; to battle the rest of these beasts with all he had.

His second assult wasn't too far off, as his entire body was set ablaze; his body was the very image of he great fire god himself "Indenki" he forcfully laughed. His body was a great beacon of light across the entire battlefeild, the blinding light of red flames was to be seen by all.

"What... the hell?" Mato silently asked himself, when he saw the dead Saibamen begin to mutate. Never before had he seen anything like this, and it frightened him. The new Saibamen army didn't have much power, comparing one of the creatures to any of the warriors who opposed the evil Saiya-jin, but a transformation usually came with some kind of hidden power that could change the tide of a battle. Currently, however, Mato tried to not think much of it. If he clouded his thoughts with the outcome of the battle, his fighting level would drop drastically. The number of the tiny, green army that marched across the fallen city didn't help him, of course.

He took a step back, a clanging sound being heard with the step. His eyes shifted to the ground beside him, where it locked on to a long metal pole, slightly damaged from the battle. Its bend seemed only a few degrees of an angle. A smirk crept on his previously worried face. Leaning over, the Saiya-jin grabbed one end of the pole, positioning it in his grasp so that the opposing end faced a large group of unsuspecting Saibamen.

"This is the third time in one battle. Forgive me, body, but it must be done."

On cue, a crack of electricity sparked up in front of his chest, more bolts shifting down to the metal between his two hands. All of the intensifying lightning made its way to the pole, finding its way into the circular opening at the bottom. The pole began to heat up, but Mato didn't pay much attention to it -- his attack was almost done. The low humming that followed gave him the signal, and he gritted his teeth.

"Bolt!" A cannon-like explosion followed his yelling, the compiled electricity inside of the pole firing out of one end, a large sphere of lightning ripping through the air and descending down upon the Saibamen.

OOC: Lol, maxhax Jinkourai. The pole acted as a conductor, so it's even more powerful than a normal Jinkourai fired directly from Mato. 3,925 - 400 = 3,525.

The Saibaman had caught him by surprise. He did not expect it to arise from the ashes like a phoenix. And this time, it had been reincarnated into a more powerful and aggressive version. It leaped, soaring across the air, arms flailing with sharps claws threatening at the end of them. What perplexed Raitro was that the outer green shell of the Saibaman was beginning to crack, with white light leaking out of these miniature fissures. It took him a while, but he finally realized what was about to happen. He, of course, as a Saiyan was not ignorant of the Saibamen abilities.

Raitro quickly inhaled oxygen into his lungs. In response, everything around him immediately ceased to move. Time had been stopped, a feat made possibly thanks to his new ability, Time Freeze. It allowed him to stop time as long as he could hold his breath. A very useful ability for this sort of situation.

Keeping his mouth sealed, he stopped to think of a plan. The Saibaman was about to blow up; something he could use in his favor. His head turned both ways, scanning the field for more of this type of Saibaman. He spotted a few in the distance. Excellent, he mused. All he needed to do now was round them up and put them in place. However, he better hurry, his face was already turning light red.

Using all the speed he could muster, he zoomed past the ranks of green monsters, picking up those he saw were about to explode. In the end, he gathered about a dozen of the Kamikaze Saibamen. His face was purple now. Little time left! His mind shouted in desperation. Like someone with something to lose, Raitro rocketed into sky whilst keeping a tight grip on the Saibamen. He placed them behind the three saiyans, close enough to make the explosions more effective.

Now dying, Raitro was losing consciousness. He continued to hold his breath until he was out of the kill radius. Once in shelter, he exhaled. Everything went back to normal speed. Panting, he ducked in anticipation. As planned, up in the sky where the saiyans were, an enormous ball of fire blossomed, covering the night sky. It flushed away the darkness that was cast upon the land. Winds brutally swept the ground, stirring the rocks and plant life that was resting upon it. Surely, his plan must have worked. Survival of the saiyans he did not expect.

Corey knew his attack had worked. Before he had time to pat himself on the back, a Saibaman was behind him glowing. Before he had time to utter "OH," and "SHIT", time suddenly stopped for a moment. The next instant, the Saibamen exploded miles above, igniting a fireball.

"What the fu--?" Corey began, but he failed to finish his sentences due to the mutating saibamen.
"You have got to be kidding me..." he murmured. Corey charged anyway, having a feeling it wouldn't be easy, and as he charged, a red aura appeared around him.

OOC#2: If the blast killed me, I don't have objections to editing this post. Just don't hype the results so that I'm automatically out of the saga. Be fair and not stupid impartial.

Ki usage--will do later, probably tommorow... in a foul mood, now.

"What f--- are these things, they look like giant bugs." Abbath growls while studying the Saibamen.

"Well I guess I will summon my own little annoying thing." Abbath moans as he bends over on to both of his knees on the cracked concrete.

"O, großer Teufel die ich auffordere Sie schicken mir Ein von Ihren vielen Günstlingen." Abbath moans pointing his hands outward toward the ground.

In one hand he held the arm of what used to be a saibaman, in the other was a broken glass bottle covered in green blood. Katsuo stood in the middle of what most would consider a slaughter. The little green men had attacked him out of no where and so he had reacted, fast, killing any that so much as entered his proximity. His expression still hadn't changed though, his eyes were ever calculating as they glanced around the battlefield.

Three big explosions had occurred during his battle. It seemed the saibamen had caught a few of the warriors off guard. That was three men down on Earth's side, none but these insects on the sayain's.

Katsuo pulled out his scouter and began searching for the position of the saiyans. They couldn't have gotten far, these plant-like creatures were mere distractions after all. Suddenly though, he noticed something strange from one of the nearby corpses on the ground. Its green blood seemed to be bubbling, almost as if..."They're reforming," Katsuo whispered to himself as he quickly jumped back from the now regenerating saibamen. Not only had they reformed but they had doubled both their power and numbers as well. The situation was still in his favor though, he had the power advantage, regardless of their new numbers and power.

Several Saibamen shot forth towards the warrior, intent on grabbing their prey and taking it with them. Katsuo, however, was faster, removing himself from harms way before the little green monsters could even hope to touch him. "It looks like I'll have to completely obliterate their bodies so they can't come back."

As he jumped on to a group of nearby ruins, Katsuo began to prepare an attack. He took in a deep breath and his chest began to expand rapidly. His cheeks were next to follow and soon his entire upper body looked like an overinflated balloon. As he exhaled, five white balls of fluff formed in midair, each shifting and changing as though trying to adapt to their environment.

Soon, five white ghost-like creatures were floating in front of Katsuo, each with a mind of their own. They looked exactly like the person who had created them but acted child-like in comparison. "Ghost Kamikaze 1," Katsuo said with a hint of confidence, "attack." With that, the first in the line of ghosts launched itself at the saibamen. The saibamen, thinking the new creature as prey, shot towards it in an effort to take it down. Needless to say, they had just shot themselves towards their doom.

After spectating other matches across West City, Daiki set out to the wildeness to meet other foes. He approached another fighter who was fighting the Saibamen. This man Daiki remebered as a partner of another battle. With a slight nod of his head, Daiki looked at Abbath and then the strange bugs. This was an odd species of creature of the likes that Daiki had never seen before. They had sprouted from the ground from nothing more then a drop of liquid. They seemed to be easy enough opponents. So if he could get in there, this would be fun.

"Hey!" Daiki yelled to his former acqaintance, Abbath, "Want a hand?"

Daiki twirled his staff and flipped onto the battle stage. He smiled wide as if he were to join in no matter what the man said. However, Daiki did nothing until the man answered.

OOC- 'K gaiz, so I'm now running the show, I guess. I think it's time to spice things up a bit, don't you?


Little could be heard but the fierce roar of battle as innumerable green bodies smashed against themselves and their enemies endlessly. Explosions carved scars in the landscape and tossed many of the Saibamen like ragdolls. The whole scene was a bloody mess, a tangle of lifeforms flailing left and right in a sea of confusion. In time, the Earth warriors began to gain the upperhand, and the once-many Saibamen were now reduced to only a few. This time, they weren't growing back.

Seeing the state of things, Cassius could only chew his thumb raw in frustration at the bitter defeat he was being handed. He hadn't anticipated this level of ability in any of the fighters on Earth, yet there they were, making game of his special Saibamen. Eventually, the tension got the better of him, and he began to consider stepping in personally.

"This isn't going how we planned. Someone didn't give us accurate information."

"Lord Cassius?" Cicero questioned, doing so more out of respect than genuine curiosity.

"The Saibamen should've been more than enough to deal with what we came here prepared to face, and look at them! They're being tossed around like small children! And that man...with the glowing red eyes...he somehow broke our illusion. Forget the others, if the three of us had to fight even just him..."

By now, Cassius was fuming. He couldn't stand being shown up- he just couldn't. With a sudden spark of an idea, he whirled about to face Cicero and the female, plodding forward in thought while the battle continued behind him.

"Cicero!" he finally barked, glancing back at the man, "Prepare the ships. We'll join you shortly, after I make sure to get the last word in with these backwater galactic trash."

"Sir!" the giant replied, crouching low and then blasting off into the sky.

As Cassius turned back to edge of the ruined structure, overlooking the scene of the battle, the female beside him glanced worriedly out at the warriors who stood against them. She thought it a wise move to retreat, but she wondered what Cassius was doing staying behind longer. It seemed pride had gotten the better of him, and it was simply beyond his capability to accept loss without giving loss in return. Saiyan blood flowed through her veins as well, but even she could see that this was a dangerous idea born from emotion rather than thought.

"Now..." the Saiyan snarled maliciously, charging both of his hands with Ki, "...I'll leave them a few casualties to pick off the streets!"

"You won't be doing anything."

Cassius froze in place at the sound of that voice. He had heard it earlier, and even now, chills went up his spine from the sound of it. He could feel a pair of intense eyes stare at him- eyes equally experienced in the ways of killing as his own. But there was something different. Something he lacked. A sort of coolness- a state not of enjoyment in killing, but of peace with it. What was this thing, this thing he lacked? What was this icey, powerful sensation that nearly drove him to his knees? Could it be...hatred?

"Just who the hell are you, anyway?!" Cassius demanded, trying to cover up his growing fear as a gleaming blade slid before his face, "Those eyes...that power... Who or what in the hell are you?!"

"My name is 'Uchiha Itachi'." the shinobi declared with a tone of great calmness and, at the same time, firmness, "These eyes- my Sharingan -are my bloodline...and my birthrite. This power- my power -is the power of the Uchiha Clan...and the power of the only one who can ever defeat me. My identity is of little concern to you, but there is perhaps one thing that you should take to heart in these final moments of your life: I am your executioner..."

As the Uchiha readied his blade for the killing blow, his attack was halted by the sudden intervention of the female Saiyan, who charged headlong into him and tackled him away from Cassius. The stout Saiyan, relieved to be free, saw the girl quickly overpowered and knocked unconscious with a blow to the stomach. No pride was enough to blind him now; he knew he had to escape immediately.

"G-GET THE HELL AWAY FROM ME!!!" he shouted, unleashing a volley of Ki blasts as he flew back in retreat.

Poorly-concentrated ribbons of Ki pelted the structure and reduced it to nothing, sending up a billow of dark dust that fanned out over a large area. For a moment, he stopped to look into it, but to his horror he saw Itachi completely unscathed, staring at him with those eyes- eyes that were now locked with his, conveying the full brunt of their menacing appearance. However, there was something else. Some...object...in Itachi's hands...

"Unfortunately, I can't waste time or chakra dealing with you." he muttered coldly, brandishing a...drill, "I'm still nowhere near my full power, and if I keep exerting myself by using these eyes, I could die. That's why...I must..."

Itachi's eyelids fluttered and his head bobbed up and down, as if he were suddenly getting sleepy. His stance wavered, and he began to sway from side to side like he was about to pass out.



Cassius looked on, dumbstruck. He couldn't find words or thoughts to comprehend the situation, and he began to get a strange feeling all of a sudden as he looked on and observed the Uchiha's strange behavior.



The Saiyan flew back a little in surprise, quite understandably shocked by the outburst. It was like he was facing a completely different person now. Stranger still, the object in his hands started growing.



As an unusual green aura began to build up around Itachi, the weapon began to grow in size even more. Several meters off to the side, the female looked up from the dirt, laying incapacitated on her abdomen. She struggled to catch a glimpse of what was going on, and was quite astonished at what she was witnessing.

"H-how can this be? What is this? Is that his...weapon? His Ki?"

Finally, something clicked- or rather, snapped -inside of the head of Uchiha Itachi. All at once, as if in response to the unheard mutterings of the Saiyan woman, he threw his head up with a deranged grin, and with the whole of his being cried out,



A torrent of wind flung Cassius off balance and sent him tumbling uncontrollably. As he tried to right himself, he suddenly noticed Itachi hovering before him, his arm cocked back with the obscenely-massive drill aimed for a killing blow to the Saiyan warrior's chest. There was nothing he could do but howl as the attack hit home.

"GIGA...DRILL.....BREAKER!!!!!"

With the sound of Cassius' fading scream, a flash of white illuminated the sky for miles all around, followed shortly by a resounding crack not unlike violent thunder. When all was said and done, Itachi dropped to the ground on his knees, back to his normal state of mind and panting heavily. Along with him fell Cassius, who bore a gaping wound in his chest and coughed as his back hit the hard Earth. Luckily for him, his armor had managed to block a significant portion of the attack when it connected, and he remained alive. Alive, but otherwise immobile. Itachi stared at him confidently for a few more seconds before his red eyes turned completely black. His Sharingan were gone. However, despite his outward confidence, deep down, he was greatly shaken. That strange kunai... Where the hell had Kisame gotten such a thing?

"Now tell me why you're here." he suddenly commanded, drawing Cassius' forced attention, "Tell me who you three are and why you came here, and I will spare your life. If you refuse to talk...well...I spent more than a year in ANBU. I've done my share of interrogations..."

Cassius' chest heaved up and down, each breath growing increasingly difficult to manage. Still, a defiant, grunt-like chuckle escaped through his bloody clenched teeth, causing him once more to cringe.

"You had me fooled... I thought you were tough, but you're just all talk. You couldn't even kill me when you had the chance..."

"Make no mistake..." Itachi warned the Saiyan firmly, "You're only still alive because I want information."

"The hell if I'll give it to you!" Cassius snapped back angrily, ignoring the pain of his injuries.

"We'll see about that..."

All of a sudden, on the outskirts of the city, five streaks of light crashed into the Earth, heralding the arrival of five new prescences...




OOC#2- Whew. That took longer than expected. Yes, mostly Itachi nut-hugging, but honestly, what did you expect with me at the helm? Anyway, I've left a few of you some neat little rewards: Brutus, by request, gets to intercept Cicero, the female is left incapacitated to be either ravaged by Eliwood or killed by Felix before Eliwood gets to her for the lulz, and we've got some new guests who are going to kick things up a notch. BAM.


500 Ki spent on this post, which leaves me with 7,300 Ki. Also, Sharingan deactivated along with SL, so my next post shouldn't require Ki...but it will. Heh heh heh...reactivation...
