BLAST FROM THE PAST

Yeah, I sort of gave up on writing. I think. I get ideas every now and then, but I end up noticing it is just a carbon copy of something, or that I couldn't get past the design of two or three characters and how the story ends and begins.

Also, I don't really feel like writing, y'know. Feels like an unwanted chore. But hey, who knows, maybe one day I'll get drunk/stoned enough to decide to write something. No doubt it won't be so classy.

Hey all.

Ok, here's the deal, I found one of my old fics on here from two years ago and I was thinking I'd re-work it and start updating it again. In The Shadows, if anyone remembers ^^

Also, as an aside - I have another two fics sitting on my computer that I've never posted; one about an Assassin, the original Shade. The other's about a Princess in exile. If anyone's interested in those, I'm continuing them as well :)

Hi guys I'm Separate_From_Society and I've been trying to start finishing off some of the fics I left here and guess what I can't.

Honestly, I don't know what to do anymore. Back in my golden age of writing I was slamming the boards with a chapter every other day because I wanted to write. I knew what to write. Didn't matter if it was crap or if it was good, I thought it was awesome regardless. Into the Depths? Good Lord tried reading that again and I just couldn't help but overanalyze and leave the story in disgust.

I've tried restarting a little bit with Chronicles of the Righteous, but I've no idea where to go with it. 2 years ago I could've probably gone forever with it. I tried doing a chapter for Floating, a fic I had BIG plans for but kind of lost them. Couldn't make it a paragraph.

This is extraordinarily disappointing because I'd always hoped to be some kind of author, whether a full-time creator-of-masterpieces or just the amateur who writes stuff on the side. I just can't think and plan and take it in stride like I used to. Whether that's the cause of me "growing up a little," (in my own way) or English classes enforcing too much grammar and too little creativity/vocabulary, I don't know. So many things that could be a factor here.

I just don't know what to do, figured someone might have something that could help get over a huge slump like this -- if they experienced it, going through it or whatever.

It's happened to me multiple times, even recently. Not shit you can do about it but throw some stuff down whenever you get motivation to. Don't expect anything big to come out of it.

Also, you'll come to find as you progress through English classes that it focuses less on the structure of the language itself and more on authors and their intentions connected to their writings.
