CoD ~ R2 M1 [Eragon (Ichigo) vs ANB (Spiderman)]

Location: Zangetsu's Realm. Basically a modern city filled with skyscrapers... even though it's empty of people, it seems almost normal, except for the fact that it appears rotated by 90 degrees. It covers an endless distance and depth, and noone knows what lies in the bottom. Truth be told, one would be ill-advised to try and find out. Once more, Kurosaki Ichigo finds himself within his inner world, trying to overcome yet another obstacle - but how will this strange land fare for the valiant Spider-man?

Time of Day: N/A (Irrelevant).

OOC: Ichigo has the home ground this time, but the skyscrapers might prove more of an advantage to Spiderman than the unfamiliar ground may be a liability. You both surpassed my expectations in the first round - keep up your game and give it all you've got. Good luck.

Silence.
It echoed within the empty city, almost an entity in itself, chilling and as oppressing as the thick mass of grey clouds that drifted on a dead wind, blotting out the crystal blue sky above the soon-to-be battlefield… and this was a place that had experienced such battle far too often.

Now, however, such a battle seemed unlikely; nowhere within the great expanse of his inner soul could Ichigo Kurosaki be spotted, as though he had chickened out of this tournament. Less obvious to a visitor, however, would be the absence of the old man, Zangetsu, this world’s resident and guide- the only of either, in fact. As vast as this veritable wasteland seemed, one couldn’t helped but suppress the disconcerting feeling that, if the clouds burst, they would be alone as the rain fell upon their face…

“Hehehehehe…”

A new voice floated through the air, accompanied by footsteps, and a stranger appeared on the building opposite, a leering grin in place.

“Well well,” the newcomer remarked, as if in surprise at the situation- though not, it seemed, at the fact that the floor beneath him was the side of a building. “What do we have here?”

His voice was odd, even for a competition and place like this- it seemed dual layered that of a young teen, but which echoed and had an inhuman quality to it, like a monster. His appearance, likewise, was suitably inhuman; his skin was white- not merely Caucasian, but literally white, stained slightly grey- and a pair of conniving, yellow eyes peered from pitch black eyes. His hair was more than “bleached”- it was the same white-ish-grey as his skin and clothes. His attire, likewise, was a shihakushyou, just as one would expect from a death god, though unlike that of Ichigo, Byakuya, or any other soul reaper, it was, predictably, white, though with a black trim shirt visible about his collar and sleeves. Strapped against his back, and which he seemed to be idly playing with was a zanpakto, a dull, waxen blade, bound at the hilt in a dark cloth. It was, undeniably the form of Ichigo Kurosaki… but only the form. The cruel, maniacal grin that sat so naturally on the mans pallid face would have no pace on Ichigo’s own.

“A little bug, plastered against a wall?”

OOC: With JAI’f permission, using hollow Ichigo for this bfight- I duno how much you know about Beach, ANB, so if ya want info about him, tell me and I’ll say so in the next post. Sorry for th bad opening… Im.. not that good at them ;_;

A blissfull dream, that's what it was. Yeah. He had just encountered rotting blue-haired samurai from some ancient time-period and was now finishing up the remnants of his dream.

The sky; how fitting! Anytime he got too stressed going out for a swing always calmed the old arachnid down. He gazed superficially about him glancing left and right at the skyscrapers enshrouded in myst. Down he went: 5 floors, 10 floors, 20. "Alright, time to reach out and..." he attempted to shoot webbing out of his hands. Yes, this man was actually capable of swinging from building top to building top. Yes, he caught bad-guys just like flies. Yes, here came the Spiderman!

Unfortunately, today was just not his day. His long arm, outstretched, jerked every so often in failed attempts to release webbing fluid. "W-what...?!" he panicked. Not only was he having trouble but something was bothering him: the buildings to his left and right seemed to go on forever. And...there was another freaky samurai guy below him. "Great, they better not make me sign any contracts," he commented in his usual calm and sarcastic tone. He plummeted until he was just 25 feet above the strange person who looked as though he stepped out of a pirate-movie screening. "Hey friend," Spiderman began, "Just 'dropping-in'. Any idea how to stop...?". In the back of his mind Spiderman knew he had replenished his capsules just before the tournament. Lots of web was used against Grimmjow. He was down to about 67% capacity.

OOC: I'm presuming that this literally "carries-on" from the previous fight...? If that's the case he still has the blast-wound on his left-cheek, revealing his skin, and the various burns and tears from the train and falling off the building.

JAIF NOTE ~ No, it is assumed that your characters are allowed time to heal perfectly during fights, so no inconveniences arise. However, if, for RPing reasons, you so desire, you can RP your character as still injured or whatever. The choice completely lies with the RPer. Also, you shouldn't worry about stuff like consistency with events in the Preparation Chamber, or even with previous fights - they are largely unimportant, although attention to background usually attracts some votes. Feel free to edit this out once you've read it.

“Stop?” the man echoed, the corner of his lips tugging with the same condensation that entered his voice; the voice that seemed to continue forever within this barren wasteland, and which returned to the superhero filled with malice than when the word had been uttered. Perhaps this would draw attention to an interesting fact that the wallcrawler had, perhaps overlooked…

Rather than take pity upon the webbed avenger for the perilous-and admittedly, disconcerting- situation in which he found himself, the smirk upon Ohihci’s expression seemed to merely deepen, his eyes spitting daggers of contempt and amusement derived from the webs slingers plight. He tilted his head back, as though to better observe the scarlet avenger, his eyes seeming to trace the web lines that ran across his suit with mock interest, even as his right hand wrapped itself though the scarf binding his blade. When Spidey passed by him, the waxen figure turned ever so slightly, gazing into his white, opaque eye pieces with his own, moon-coloured pupils, clearly dilating with something akin to madness.

“What’re you babbling about?” the hollow spirit questioned, in a tone of mock curiosity. “You’re not here to stop.”

Once more, the words hung in the air, and their haunting quality seemed to dominate the atmosphere; perhaps, given the situation, even the mind of Peter Benjamin Parker would fail to notice the pride and authority which they seemed to be supported upon, and upon these aspects the cruelty and malice that were especially obvious. Could he, however, also neglect the fact that the samurai was standing upon the building as though it were the floor, as nimbly as Peter, Ben, or any number of heroes might have done? Perhaps they were merely facts to be considered later… though just as the wall crawlers sarcastic banter seemed to make light of his opponent, so too did the thoughts running within the spirits mind taunt his adversary as he collapsed.

‘Ichigo nearly lost to that kid in the first round, and now I have to deal with this idiot? Dumbasses…’ he smirked.

Without warning, he man suddenly leapt, spinning on the spot sharply so as to face the descending superhero; there was a slash of black across his form, the long scarf of he bade already unravelling as the sword flashed in the air, not grasped tightly at the hilt, but being swung wildly by the cloth like a flail by his side. His grin stretched from ear to ear, and with a sudden laugh, he lashed out with his arm, snapping the sword towards his opponent with a rush of air.

“YOU CAME HERE TO DIE!!”

OOC: Inner Hollow Ichigo(fan named Ogihci) has the same skills as regular Ichigo, with the exception of a hollow transformation. His personality is a lot different though, and his attack style is more based around a beserker- his “Getsuga Tenshou” in bankai mode is also a bit more powerful than Ichigo’s, though I hadn’t used it in the first round.

"I came here...to die? Sorry, but I called sick for the meeting and didn't get the memo,".

Spiderman was descending head-first. Timing was the key here. He was now 30 feet below Ogihci. It would take him (with non-accelerated free-fall) only about 8 seconds to reach him. Looking around, Spiderman saw that the buildings were very close and could make for a good...trap.

He released thin but very tough webbing that was shaped like a net; with two of the four corners on one side and vice-versa. When Ogihci landed in it, he would sink for several feet and then become entangled. The weight would snap the stickyness of the four corners and cause them to further wrap around the skeletal samurai; making him descended rapidly while wrapped up just like a real spider's prey. Spiderman hoped that he would be too caught in the adrenaline and not too nimble to avoid the trap at the last second.

OOC: It's not like the trap is right below him...he has like 6 seconds. Just wanted to clarify the last sentence and make sure you don't think I'm godmoding.

“Not good enough!” Ogihci screeched in delight with another outburst of that low deranged laughter; the sight of the webbing seemed to have no impact upon him, though whether he was laughing out of amusement at it or if he was merely off in his own little world was anyone guess. The white Zangetsu gleamed menacingly in the air, the man’s whip like use of the sword being snapped by a quick action of his wrist and, rather than attack the enemy came into contact with the webbing.

There was an unpleasant sound as the webbing bound to the naked blade, and this more than the trap snatched the hollows’ attention- the fact he had found something he couldn’t merely slice to pieces, and his eyes widened with surprise; as if by reflex, he snapped his arm back, expecting the sword to return to him. True, the action tugged the webbing almost taut, but a second later, it snapped back to form, the zanpaktou encased within the prison and, more importantly, the white male dragged into the trap.

“Wh-what the--?!?” he roared, the voice echoing within the wasteland once more as he struggled to escape the prison; his desperate, frantic movements, of course, merely accelerated the sagging of the web sac.

“Son of a-“ he screamed before another sound drowned out his own voice; the snap of the web lines to the buildings, and the rushing wind of a, suddenly very vulnerable, adversary…

"Good, he's cocky. That means he'll be even more humiliated and easy to predict,".

Spiderman frantically squabled in the air and dodged the falling hollow. He jumped to stuck on the wall with both his hands and feet while reached out and shooting webbing down to grab the bundled opponent. He was surprised by the weight of the sword but it was nothing strenuous since he carried a building before.

"Zpp--tcht!" was the sound of the web-fluid being torn away from Spiderman's wrist. He wrapped it around a protruding nob which left Ogihci dangling. Spiderman climbed down the line and met him face to face; keeping an eye on the Zanpakuto. Both opponents were upside-down and in a stare-down. The wind breezed on with a cyrptic chill.

"Now," the masked man began, "I'm gonna get some answers one way or another". He grabbed Ogihci by the throat and balled up his right fist, swinging it back...

[Eragon]

OOC: It... Was? Thanks…

The webbed avengers words hung in the air, a moment after they were muttered, and seemed to float oppressively between them, weighing the two combatants down; Ogihci’s expression, rather than appear shocked at being so roughly handled, twisted to a insulted sneer.

“Answers?” he jeered as the wall crawlers fist was cocked. “You don’t even understand the question, do ya!?”

As if by a side-effect of having it spoken once more, that oppressive aura intensified; within its cocoon, the white sword seemed to quiver, and that force around the two deepened. Either way, it neither impeded the fist, nor made an impact upon its wielder, who merely grinned, before the sickening snap of the spider’s fist against his cheek caused his face to lash around. He panted for a moment, staring at the wasteland… beneath him, or above him? The laws of physics for this plane were messed up to begin with, hanging upside down effectively made all sense of direction null and void.

He smirked, and that hollow laughter rang out once more.
“C’mon!! Is that your best shot?! You’re just as bad as Ichigo--!”

"Free hits...? You ARE crazy,".

Spiderman raised both arms and pounded on Ogihci's stomache. It was a blur: Like watching Mike Tyson hitting the speed bag. As he hit, he could feel a strange breeze in the air and hesitated for a moment. White aura was glowing and the webbing was loosening. Spiderman knew not to waste a lot of energy because he had not idea what would happen with this guy and stopped after about two-dosen flurries.

He then smacked Ogihci across the jaw, wincing a bit at the blood that spewd forth and dyed his suit a darker red. "Whatever, you can just fall forever if that's how this goes,". He climbed back up the rope and detached it from the knob. Ogihci seemed to fall even faster than he was before, now immobile and bruised.

"But it's weird...I felt like a whole lot of energy was being generated from him,".

The battered man fell victim to the conniving force of gravity as his lifeline to the world was severed, the web ball spinning over itself through the air as it collapsed to an unknown bottom, no doubt giving the warrior a rather bad case of sea sickness(though, of course, with his pallid features, how could you tell?). However, if Spider-Man could see the expression on his pained expression, he would recognise neither fear nor anxiety there but rather, an odd smirk—

A rush of wind, an explosion, and the web sac had burst into flames, vaporised instantly by the flaming aura of spirit pressure that had materialised around Ogihci’s broad grinned expression; an odd, terrifying energy, that seemed to burn up the atmosphere, and smash into the buildings unfortunate enough to get in it’s way… It was a terrifying energy, eerie and unnerving, which seemed to be radiating not just from the doubled over male, but from his sword as well. It was a difficult choice as to which was the greater monster.

Despite his wounds, Ogihci straightened himself up and grinned from ear to ear, his laugh filling the air on which he stood, tinted with its deranged note.
“I knew it! You are just like Ichigo!” he howled, swiping his white blade suddenly, this time grasping it by the hilt; a beam of energy fired from it towards the, most likely surprised, wallcrawler.

“You don’t have that killer instinct--!!”

Spiderman had long since taken to the skies and began swinging from sky-scraper to sky-scraper. It had been a crazy day and he was glad to finish this match early.

Or so he thought. Luckily for Spiderman, he had a "spider sense". The energy beam was closing in on him: "No...way..". Only inches away, the wall-crawler heaved himself forward as if her were on a swing. Next, he frantically pulled himself up the rope to avoid the singing technique just below.

After the beam died down, he turn around to look at his opponent who was several stories below him. "What gives?!" he demanded. Since this guy had strange, unkown powers he decided he may as well take the opportunity to learn his attack pattern and how it worked. After-all, this was the second out of three guys wearing Feudal Japan-style clothing, and if he wasn't familiar with Ogihci's abilities he might be at a disadvantage. Spiderman hung from the rope with one hand while keeping his right arm behind him.

“Heh heh heh… so, what’s up?!” the spirit taunted sharply, as oblivious to Parkers own demand as he apparently was to the fact that he had missed; the beam, instead of smashing the spiders back, instead shot between a pair of buildings ineffectually, scarring them, causing some burns, but leaving them unscathed- surely a first, considering the individual in question. He smirked, heaved the sword up once again, and rested it upon his shoulders, the sharply edged cleaver casting his expression and reflecting it. He continued, in a tone of mock civility.

“You wanna just hang out? Buddy?”

His opponent would have time to note the devious glint in his eyes, before he vanished in a blur- not for long, however. Almost as if he had teleported, Ogihci materialised above the webslinger, his expression broken by a manic, ear-to-ear grin.

“THEN LETS’ HANG !!” he laughed, sweeping his blade across suddenly with an inhuman flexibility; his target, however, was not the crafty spider, but the web line on which it hung…

OOC: Flash steps.

Although with his "Spider-sense" he already knew where Ogihci was, he simply did not have the reflexes to keep up. As a result, the giant cleaver sword cut through his webbing and now there was a tumbling spinning Spiderman.

But it was an act!

Spiderman hung from the rope with one hand while keeping his right arm behind him.

He had been building up a special attack in case his opponent tried something tricky. If he used it, he would not have time to catch himself but it might win the match. Bringing out his right hand, Spiderman revealed a small, grey, shiny object. It looked very compact and light-weight. "Say hello to my little friend!" he cried and threw the ball straight up at Ogihci. It was a "web-bomb" designed to explode upon contact like a chewing-gum bubble. It wasn't very hard to dodge but the slightest contact and you'd be stuck for at least a minute.

Spiderman, meanwhile, had just used up half his webbing and spent his energy hurling the web-bomb. Now all he could to was flap his arms wildly in an attempt to grab hold of something. Spiderman reached out and placed his hand against a steel-complex; sliding down with his hand smearing against the surface but wouldn't stick. The building to his right seemed to go on forever as he fell. "Unnh!" he grunted attempting to get a foot-hold. But for some reason he couldn't. Spiderman crashed into a window-washer with his head in a bucket of cold windex.

OOC: Yeah, Ogihci would have to be much faster than Spiderman with flash-steps. There isn't any strength advantages are there...?

The former glee on the evil spirits face was quickly wiped off, a fact that was deftly concealed behind the mass of webbing that exploded over his face, torso, legs, binding them together in an awkward, sticky mess. Only his hands and blade emerged from the mini-detonation completely unscathed and they were somewhat preoccupied at the moment, between his awkward (and from the sounds of it, painful) efforts to peel the substance from his eyes and th
