Round I: Genkai [ANB] vs. Ichigo [Tuna2]

Genkai: "This...no. He is not,".

She no longer felt nervous and walked out to the stone-road. It was marbly and smooth. Genkai sniffed in the pleasent aroma of freshly cut-grass.

The boy stared a little blankly but was ready for anything. [Just like the women in armor he has demon odor all-over. His aura is expectectantly fierce, but his soul is pure. This should be fun!]--Genkai thought. Cracking her knuckles and sliding into a back-stance set the stage. She looked serious but open for the slightest movement.

"Okay...I will let you strike first. YOUR BEST TECHNIQUE,". To Ichigo she almost "commanded" and in an instructorly fashion.

The boy walked on to the stage, his bright orange hair quickly catching the attention of the crowd. He wore nothing more than the simple black robes doned by most shingami along with a pair of socks and sandals. Across his shoulder he carried what appeared to be a large sword, its blade wrapped in an array of cloth.

As the boy stepped on to the thick marble that made up the arena floor, he looked back towards the waiting room where Kon now stood awaiting him. Ichigo had brought him along for the company...and because Rukia had insisted that she couldn't deal with him for an entire day.

"Kon, did you give the announcer the glasses Urahara made?" The boy said, directing the question at his once stuffed companion.

"Ya," The mod soul replied distractedly, his eyes gazing over the various spectators in the crowd; a line of drool running from his mouth as several females in particular caught his attention.

Ichigo let out a small sigh as he turned back to face his opponent. From what he could tell, she had a vast amount of spiritual power. However, it seemed dissimilar from both a shingami's and hollow's power. In fact, the texture was to unlike Chad's and Inoue's for her to be human and, eyeing her wrist for any bracelet or artifact, Ichigo could tell she wasn't a quincy.

"Sorry, but I can't use that just yet," the boy smirked in reply to the old woman's instructions, unsheathing his sword as he did so. "Urahara sent me here to train, wouldn't be much to train with if I beat ya in one hit."

With that, Ichigo thrust the tip of his sword into the ground so that the hilt was facing upwards and, within a second's time, disappeared and reappeared in front of Genkai, thrusting the palm of his hand forward in an attempt to knock the wind from her body.

Genkai anticipated a behind-blind-shot attack and had lifted her right knee the moment the boy dissapeared. Her Ushiro-giri (back-kick) was caught in his hand. Ichigo wasn't surprised considering her intense aura. She immediately threw a round-house with the left leg and it clanged against the hilt of Ichigo's sword.

Ichigo: "Heh,"
Genkai: "Ha-HA..."

Suddenly there was intense light glowing near the two fighters. The source came from Genkai. But instead of her merely "powering up" it was...concentrated in her finger! The Old Woman had taken not one, but two steps ahead of Ichigo. She already had it loaded and aimed dead towards his chest; legs still in the air. Her feet kept him occupied:

-The right foot in his hand.
-The left leg weighing down the sword slightly.

She saw the boy was stunned by the display of light but not frightened. "Strong, determined, and brave. Yep, even if you turn out to be more powerfull I know how to deal with your type,". She released the Rei-Blast at 50% full-power.

It is point-blank range. Can Ichigo come up with something?!

[Tuna2]

In one hand he held the woman's foot, in the other his blade with which the woman's other foot was connected. "Heh," he had muttered with complete confidence. Of course, he knew from multiple past experiences that getting to confident about a situation could lead to a defeat. This woman though, as high as her spirit power was, didn't seem to be as tough as he had originally thought.

Suddenly, a small glow emanated from between the two fighters. At first, thinking Genkai was simply increasing her output of power, Ichigo held fast. Then, feeling a small warmth near the center of his chest, Ichigo realized that the power wasn't coming from her body as a whole. No, it was only concentrated at the tip of her finger.

'This can’t be' the boy thought while eyeing the blast suspiciously, 'kidou, cero...no, that's not it.'

As he was and at this range, there was no way Ichigo could possibly dodge the attack without taking damage. He only had one choice; he had to reveal his trump card. Within the split second it took Genkai to gather the energy to release her attack, the shingami released Genkai's right foot and placed his hand in front of his face. The blast was fired.

A few moments passed and the crowd 'ooed and awwed' in what seemed to be amazement. As the smoke cleared, it was revealed to the user of the attack that Ichigo was no longer standing in front of her.

"Nice," said a voice from behind the old woman, "Never expected you to use something like that."

Ichigo turned to face the woman, his left arm clutching the large cleaver-like sword while the other wrapped what looked to be torn clothing around said arm. He had been hit by the blast but the speed the temporary power increase had allowed him had kept the damage to a minimal. Surprisingly, his face seemed more exhausted than it had before and his breath came in small pants. Although the power allowed him to do such things, it came at a price.

"So, whenever you're ready to continue," the boy said, a smirk on his face despite an injured left arm and a bit of exhaustion.

"I just want to see your best techniue and how you play your cards, that's all. If one could learn their opponents greatest strength they ultimately gain insight for a weakness...!"

As she said that Genkai dashed at Ichigo head-on. She then darted to the left which may have startled him because his right-arm was the good one. She continued her lunge with maximum velocity; hair straggly and whipping back. Some old women in the stands were now interested in how she kept her hair strong (not to mention her body).

It then became clear with the next move: The reiki master was within 5-6 feet of Ichigo. She dropped to the floor and slid under him between his legs (Mario style). Ichigo whirls around but is lop-sided because he naturally inclined to his right. What he saw was Genkai at a perfect 90-degree angle, to his left, from behind about 10-ft away, and in the air and up-side-down.

The crowd was only becoming more anxious with such a fine display of speed, talent, and acrobatics. Genkai charged up yet ANOTHER blast...

My Thoughts: As expected, you both performed well. However, I have to say that Tuna2 would win. Although I've never read Bleach, I got a feel for what it is & who Ichigo is. Genkai seemed generic, in my opinion, & I couldn't grasp the situation, as w/ Burning. Both of you did well, but I believe Tuna2 won by a margin. However, as I said, you both did good, & I commend you for that. Good job.

Tuna2: Great lengthy posts, as Island said, I felt as if I was watching you fight as Ichigo.
ANB: Your posts weren't as big but possesed a similar level of RPing, just not in as much detail.

I was lost in this fight but it was due to my lack of knowledge within Bleach and Yu Yu Hakusho. Ichigo just seemed to perform better throughout.

Hmm... Tuna2 played the role of Ichigo very well, capturing his personality (and Kon's) very well. ANB played well, and could have executed the character of Genkai brilliantly, but I have no idea what Genkai is like. In light of the portrayal of Ichigo and my ignorance as far as Genkai is concerned, Tuna2 GMV
