Signature Tutorial Ok, this is my first attempt at a tutorial so bear with me... im using ps CS. Well then, lets get started, this'll just be full tutorial but a basic one. Hope it helps some of you out... Start of by opening ps (duh) and creating a new file 400 x 150, im using a transperant bg. Ok now that we have that done go filter > render > clouds. You should have something basic like this now... ![]() Ok, now lets get our brushes out... im using brushes called 'Funsize Abstract'... ok now create a new layer and click on this layer to make sure its the one we're brushing on. Then just brush around until you get something that looks alright. This is what I got... ![]() ok, now to make it look a bit more better lets play around with the layers levels... to keep this basic we'll just use auto level option. Ok click on the cloud layer, then go up to image > adjustments > auto levels. This will make the cloud a bit more darker and lighter. So now i have this... ![]() Ok, now lets add a lil colour to the sig. Staying on your cloud layer go; image > adjustments > colour balance. Normally you'd just play around until you get a colour you like, this is what i used and what i got... Midtones: -12, 0, +19 Highlights: +24, 0, -29 Shadow: 0,0,0 Heres what mine now looks like: ![]() Ok now lets start working on our other layer; click on your brushed layer and lets start fiddling with it. First hit crtl+e to merge the two layers together, now go image > adjustments > colour balance. Here is what i did this time; Midtones: +27,0,-34 Highlights: +24,0,-30 Shadows: +22,0,-20 Here is what i came up with; ![]() Ok simple enough bg, now we need some stock. Here is the stock i used; ![]() Its in png so it will have a transperant bg. Now then, as we know its too big so lets shrink it a bit. Go to image > image size. Make sure that constraint proportions is ticked! I made the height of mine 400 pixels. the width should shrink to the right size automatically... click ok, now then get your rectangle tool and just select the image, dont worry if you get the bg because it wont show. Select the image and hit crtl+c to copy it. Now then lets return to our sig... Just click on your sig and hit crtl+v to paste the stock on it. Then do some basic placement to where it looks good. This is what i have now... ![]() ok then, lets do some blending. I decided to set my blending mode on hard light; this is done by just clicking on the scroll down option list currently set to normal, when you click on it a bunch of options should appear, just click on hard light. If you cant find this let me know... its in the layer window where your layers are. Ok now then grab your lasso tool and set it for 15pixel feather (again if you dont know how to do this just let me know and i'll post it up) and just go quickly around the edges of your image... this is what i got; ![]() Ok, now go layer > add layer mask > reveal selection you'll notice now that the area you selected can be seen but fades into the bg, simple blending... now if you want you can click on the burn tool and just muck around and make some parts of your bg darker... but since some of you might not want to i'll just skip that part. Ok time for text... Click on your text tool and then just select where you want to type your text... nothing special here just type what you want there... now add a border. Just alt+crtl+shift+n to create a new layer, make sure this is at the top of your layers, now grab your rectangle tool and select your entire sig; and edit > stroke, mine is 1pixel and black and placed in the center. click ok. now you have a border, you can add some scan lines and what not else if you want... anyway this was my quick finished result. Anything you didnt understand just let me know and i'll try and explain. Hope it gave out some tips lol. ![]() |

Pixel Stretch Tutorial ok guys here a nice alternative to brushing and Filters although sometimes "some brushes are used to ehnance the overal look of the GFX piece. 1) first create a new document at the moment i tend to use 400 x 100 but anysize will do. Make sure that the BG layer is set to transparent. 2) Add your render to the sig. make sure that the stock meets the top and bottom limits of the sig like this. ![]() 2b) duplicate the layer a couple of times for the upcoming stages. 3) Select the colum marquee tool and click it on a point on the render where the stock meets both edges and has to most colour (On the bottom layer) Make sure the feather is set to 0. 4) press ctrl+T till the cursor looks something like this ![]() 5) click and drag it from left or right depending on where you render is. so it looks something like this. ![]() 6) Duplicate the bottom layer and use whatever blending options that you like to get the desired effect. Also Do the same with the top 2 stock layers. Basically just fiddle around with it till you get what you want. 7) Add brushing and txt if you want to complete the look. 8) Add a border and away you go. This is my end result. I hope this was easy to understand and you enjoyed making it. as its quite an easy method which can produce some very nice sigs. Let me know if there is any part that you dont understand and ill be happy to go over it with you |

LadyKiller1:
Sprite Animation Tutorial Ok Im putting this tut in three parts. Part one will be tranformation, speed, and proper movement sprites. Part two will be fighting and in battle tranformation. Part three will be energy blasts, super energy blasts, and effects and explosions. (I will also be doing it in links because of the image limit) Part One. I. Tranformation. Ok lets get out a sprite sheet, Im going to use a sheet from the game Legendary Super Warriors: http://www.deekndazz.com/images/spri...abdz_sheet.gif We can cut out the background of this by opening Image Ready and then sending the file to photoshop: http://img273.imageshack.us/img273/3921/step17iy.jpg To cut the background Grap the Magic Wand in photoshop and set tolerance to 0. Select the background color and press Control X to cut it out. Now send the file back to photoshop: http://img325.imageshack.us/img325/4192/step21wk.jpg Ok now lets create a new file in image ready with 100'100 pixel settings and make sure its on RGB color mode: http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/193/step39my.jpg Now select the very first sprite In the sheet: http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/5817/step42sr.jpg Now before we drag the sprite onto the sheet we need a background don't we? Pic one of these Backgrounds and resize the width to 400 and drag it into your liking on the 100 '100 white file: (Credit to these backgrounds goes to Dranet From Dranet.com) http://dranet.com/images/spritesbgs/hypdim...amentsunset.gif http://dranet.com/images/spritesbgs/hypdim.../tournament.gif http://dranet.com/images/spritesbgs/.../bgs/namek.gif http://dranet.com/images/spritesbgs/hypdim.../kamesunset.gif http://dranet.com/images/spritesbgs/hypdim/bgs/kame.gif http://dranet.com/images/spritesbgs/...bgs/frieza.gif http://dranet.com/images/spritesbgs/hypdim...earthsunset.gif http://dranet.com/images/spritesbgs/.../bgs/earth.gif http://dranet.com/images/spritesbgs/...bgs/burned.gif Now add your sprite to the background in alignment with the floor: http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/4300/step55sn.jpg Before you add a new frame, set your time frame to .1 seconds and make the sprite setting set to forever. Now add a new frame and click the eyeball off on the layer of the previous sprite. Add the first power up sprite on the sheet So we can begin the transformation: Repeat these steps until you have used all three power up sprites. We should now have this: http://img327.imageshack.us/my.php?i...tep6one4ns.jpg http://img327.imageshack.us/img327/4158/step6two2fx.jpg http://img326.imageshack.us/img326/8...p6three8ex.gif As you know this is not the only method of tranformation. I will be sticking to the methods mainly used in the show. Now add a new frame and check the eyeball off on the latest frame and make the first power up sprite visible. Add a new frame and make none of the sprites in this layer pallete visible. Go back to the sheet and choos the second Super Saiyan Power Up sprite and line the sprites. Now make a new layer and make that invisible and choose the third Kaioken or normal state power up sprite. Now make a new layer and choose the first Super Saiyan Power Up sprite and line the sprites. Now make a new frame, make that invisible and put the second normal state power up sprite on. Now, starting from the third, power up the Super Saiyan version of the character as we did w/ the first three sprites in the beggining. If you understood that, you should have this: http://img341.imageshack.us/img341/9320/step70kg.gif Now we are going to repeat that into Super Saiyan 2 except when we get into full Super Saiyan 2 power up were going to take the pencil tool and draw over the first and second w/ a px blue line to make electricity. Here is how it is supposed to be(NOTE:If you chose to reuse the SSJ2 sprites that are already put in before you do the full power up, add a new layer to draw the electricity): http://img349.imageshack.us/img349/8113/step88yi.gif Now to finish this part of the tutorial were gonna choose the sprite of SSJ2 With his chin up making new frame and adding new layers for electricity. Then add the sprite of Goku SSJ3 with his chin up with electricity around him(adding new layers as it progresses) Then powering him up w/ electricity to wrap up tutorial one: ![]() Part One II: Proper sprite movement. I normally don't use the proper motion for it but this tutorial is based on the proper ways as portrayed in the game. I will be using the same sheet as I used in part I. Now the proper use of a movement must have sprites shown in there very order before attacking. Usually they aren't used like this on most animations but in the game it was how it was done: http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/2800/step105px.jpg In motion with a movement: http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/9...ep10two2kz.gif As you saw above I demonstrated the proper sprite prefix w/ a movement afterward. I the move ment was Goku dashing forward. to do this drag Goku in the path you choose but have no pixel touching were he just was. You will know this be seeing a faded image of goku when hes being dragged. Look at the picture below to see what I mean. Also when doing the prefix movement the five frames time should be set to .2, .1, .2, .1, .2: http://img107.imageshack.us/img107/8...ep11one8go.jpg http://img107.imageshack.us/img107/7...ep11two8ul.jpg For fighting moves all you must worry for is sprites to be align. If you do combos such as multiple punches and kicks all you have to watch out for is the sprites rear staying completely still. View: http://img75.imageshack.us/img75/989/step121zz.gif If you have trouble lining sprite zoom in from 700%-1600% If you want to do combos using punches and kicks its the same as doing combos of the same limb. just line the rear. Lets do the combo listed in the entire second line of the sheet. Just line the rear foot or foward foot. Or which ever limb is closer to the floor: http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/4352/step133ze.gif Now how do we fight while moving havent we? Its a combination of combo and movement. Except during this type of movement go half of the normal space you move. We will be demonstrating with Goku's twin brother, Goku: http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/4553/step146hp.gif You may ask yourself, why doesn't Goku's twin brother feel anything? Thats because Goku's twin brother has Luke Garris Disease. He can't feel anything. So Goku will show you later on how his identical cousin will react but for now I will show you the proper pair of attack and pain as below: http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/4...ep15one2mj.jpg http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/7...ep15two8nu.jpg http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/4...15three5yw.jpg http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/2...p15four3hw.jpg http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/3...p15five3km.jpg http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/9...ep15six1lf.jpg http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/9...16seven4jj.jpg http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/1...15eight1yh.jpg http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/5...p15nine9lb.jpg http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/2...ep15ten7pl.jpg http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/9...5eleven1ps.jpg http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/6...5twelve9ml.jpg http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/6458/st...thirteen4ha.jpg (In order to get the hurting sprite in this direction select it and tranform it in 90 degrees in the upward direction) In order to flip a sheet make sure nothing is selected then go Edit>Transform>Flip Horizontal Now lets get this fight in motion: ![]() Ok this Was Basic Motion and Basic Fighting End of Part 1. I'll do a part a day cuz this is taking much longer than expected. |

Complete Signature
Here are the steps I take into making signatures. If you want to learn my way follow along. This tut is meant for Photoshop. Lets start by opening the program and hitting CTRL+N to make a new file, my size is 350'100. Make sure it's set to transparent. http://img314.imageshack.us/img314/7360/step19ia.jpg http://img314.imageshack.us/img314/5207/step23ji.jpg Now what we need to do is get out some brushes to make the BG, if you have brushes of your own skip until the step with the brushed out background. To make your own brushes just find a picture or drawing in your house and scan it into your computer. You can even use pictures on Google. I used this which I found on google since my scanner blows. http://www.optix2k.net/images/wallpapers/Inferno.jpg Now you need to make this picture your own because it wouldn't be very good to just make brushes out of the picture, so lets start off by opening the picture and pressing SHIFT+CTRL+U to get rid of the color. http://img289.imageshack.us/my.php?image=inferno2hg.jpg Now this picture looks a little blurry. Go to Filter>Sharpen>Sharpen. Use the filter as many times as you want you want a look that suites you. Now Use the dodge, burn, and sponge tools to mess around with the lighting to get something that fits the way you want the lighting to go. You may also want to resize the image, I put my width too 800 and the height automatically resized. http://img308.imageshack.us/img308/8779/inferno2dm.jpg Now lets make our brushes, get the lasso tool and set the feather to 15 px. Select whatever it is you want as a brush and press CTRL+X to cut it. Then make a new file, file should automatically be sized, and press CTRL+V To get the brush there. Go to Edit>Define Brush Preset and name your brush. Reapeat this until you have a complete brush set or untul you have used up everypart of your picture that you want. ![]() http://img311.imageshack.us/img311/5668/step46cj.jpg To be clear I usually make my brushes out of photos of my backyard and with the pencil tool and sometimes filters, but this is the beginner way of brushing. Now Brush out your background in a way that you like but be sure to paint your background white or black, which ever color you choose brush your background with the opposite: http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/5912/step59vt.jpg Now lets get some stock shall we? Pick a stock that flows with your brushing. My brushing stands still so I'd have to get a stock that matches I chose this one right here: http://utopia.poly.edu/~mng01/naruto-wallpaper-13.jpg I am obviously going to resize this image. Now hit CTRL+A to select everything and get a new file and paste it. MAKE SURE ITS TRANSPARENT>>> Use the lasso to select parts of the image you dont want and press CTRL+X to cut them out. Make sure feather is at 0. It would help to zoom in also. When your finished go in with the eraser, set it to pencil and 1 px, to get the pixels you dont want. Then your image is cut. http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/5009/step65gf.jpg Now drag and place your image on your BG in the place you want it so we can begin coloring and blending. What I did with my image was hit CTRL+T so I can rotate the picture into a place where I would like it. http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/6569/step71it.jpg Lets Color it now. First use the color extract tool to pic the most popular color in the stock and hit CTRL+U and Check colorize. Don't touch the hue, just lower the saturation to about 25. http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/8224/step82ch.jpg That color looks dull doesn't it? Hit CTRL+B to adjust the color balance. Browse threw the options: Highlights, Shadows, and midtones. Get something that blends with the popular color in your picture. http://img309.imageshack.us/img309/1417/step99wd.jpg Now add a new layer, under the stock but above the BG. We need to get a more exciting look. Reset your colors by pressing D and go to Filter>Render>Couds. Then go Filter>Render>Difference clouds and press CTRL+F 15-20 times to re-add the difference clouds. Then go Filter>Artistic>Plastic Wrap and set the settings to: Highlight Strength: 20 Detail: 15 Smoothness: 4 Now go to Filter>Distort>Wave and set the settings to: Type: Sine Generators: 7 Wavelength: 10-120 Amplitude: 5-35 Scale: 100% & 100% Undefined Areas: Wrap Around Now go to Filter>Sharpen>Sharpen. Set the layer on Overlay. http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/9335/step107yl.jpg Now on the bottom of the layer pallete. Click the square with the circle inside it and pick the Gradient tool. Set the forground color to black and the background color to white. Chose the radial gradient and use the Black to Transparent gradient. Set the tool on multiply. Now gradient in the layer mask you have just set and only gradient around the stock. You will notice that this fades away your new BG. Make sure to leave some of it around the stock like so. http://img226.imageshack.us/img226/3948/step113yw.jpg You may want to sharpen this for it is going to be part of the aura on the stock. If you are going to sharpen it make sure your selecting the BG not the layer mask. Now go to Image>Adjustments>Brightness/Contrast on the aura layer to give it some brightness if your aura came out too dark. Now add a new layer, under your stock, above the aura layer, so we can finish off this aura. Take the Pencil tool and set it to 1 px. Press D and then X to make forground colors White and background black. Now on the bottom of where the stock is, click once then move up and press SHIFT and then click again. You should get a straight line from point A to point B. Make sure to get lines going in all upward directions. When you are done with your lines set the layer on overlay so then we can finish up the aura part. Also duplicate the layer as many times as it takes to get the lines noticable. . Remember the layer masks? Add one to this layer and the duplicated layers and just gradient the tips of all the lines to give the aura a fade. Then we are done with the aura and are ready to blend the image. What I got was this: http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/3443/step124kq.jpg Now we are almost finished. Go to the stock layer and get the lasso. Set the feather to 15px and just select a little on the inside of your image. Then go to Layer>Layer Mask>Reveal Selection. Then set the image on any blending option fo your choice. What I did was set it on Pin light and duplicate the layer once. http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/6617/step132aa.jpg Now its text time. Since my sig came out techish and simple Im just going to use the Font Visitor TT1 BRK. If you want to add some blending options, right click on the text layer and click blending options. I just added a 1 px black stroke on my white text. I also set my text layer to Soft light: http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/1289/step144ux.jpg Ah the final step. Add a new layer on top of everything and reset your colors. Hit CTRL+A To select everything. Than go to edit stroke and make the settings 1 px and the color should already be sent to black. Opacity at 100 and set it for inside. Make sure the mode is normal: ![]() Its not my best. But id like to see some results :naruto2: |
