What you should never tell your bastards.

It crosses my mind, whenever I'm driving somewhere where children traversing to school are, that there are some things parents just shouldn't tell them.
Like:
-Cars legally can't hit you when you cross the street.
---When I was a kid, I ran across the street, I didn't shuffle my feet like some zombie in front of a car waiting to turn. For awhile, I quite seriously thought that cars would hit me if I wasn't out of their way.
-If anyone hits you, they get sent to jail.
---I blame the schools for this. Some people...Need to be hit. I got hit when I was bad, you all know you did at least once too. I don't care how kind hearted you are, hitting someone when they deserve it feels good. Schools, though...man. They take all the value out of giving someone a good right hook to the neck since the person getting hit gets to be all smug as you're carried out in cuffs. >_>
-Screw what people think, say what you want.
---That seems to be the new parental mantra, encouraging their kids to be individuals. That's all well and good, but I was raised on the 'If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything." Essentially, I think that's why I was so amazingly silent as a young 'un.

I wonder if people who liked lynching me thought the same. "Some people need to be hit."
Other than that, I wasn't really raised with the "If you don't have anything to say, don't say anything" attitude. It's just in my nature. And hence I often go all out when starting a topic that I know about and that is relevant to my interests. |

No, my name is Patric--Emily >_>
It's people who hit people that need to be hit, so thus it can be a series of bloody brawls and broken noses. |
