Battle of the creepy smart dudes. Who was really the better of the two? L? Or his successor, Near?

Ohba (or maybe Obata) said in an interview that Near and Mello had not surpassed L individually. But he also said he discredits Near for being a "cheater". Ultimately, Near succeeded where L failed.

So who, in your opinion, is truly the superior of the two?

Eru is superior. Even Nearu himself says that it took both him and Merroru together to do what Eru couldn't, and neither one could have passed him up on their own.

Lol, "Merroru" was also quite a detriment to Near.

While it's true that it was admitted that both Near and Mello were necessary, it's also true that Near has a Gameshark for real life. True story.
