Setting: Chuunin Exams, Forest of Death.

Teams:
Team 9 [Team Gai] + Team 8 [Team Kurenai] vs Team Baki

Let's say Neji, Lee and Tenten encounter Shino, Kiba and Hinata when they are watching Gaara kill those Rain ninja. They decide that the Sand team is too powerful, and they had better eliminate them now rather than face them later. They have time to design a plan and attack whenever they wish. The Sand team is unaware of their presence until they attack.

How does it go from there?

[Note: Assume that Gaara cannot access his semi-Shukkaku transformations, neither his full Shukkaku one. Lee cannot use the gates except the first one, but he can remove his weights]

Well, they saw some of Gaara's abilities but they know nothing about Temari and Kankuro. Even so, they would figure out that Gaara is most powerful of sand sibs, so Neji and Lee would fight him while Kiba & Shino would fight Kankuro and TenTen & Hinata would fight Temari. Temari shouldn't have any bigger problems if she can keep distance to Hinata. Kankuro... would be raped. His fight with Shino was pretty even during invasion of Konoha arc. Kankuro is weak at close combat which is Kiba's strenght. And since it's a suprise attack Shino would've send his bugs ahead. After Kankuro is down, Shino would help Neji and Lee and with Kiba's help, Hinata and TenTen would beat Temari.

As for Lee, Neji and Shino vs Gaara:

- How fast is Neji?
- Does Jyuuken affect trough armor of sand?
- What can Shino's bugs do for AOS?
- Could Kiba, TenTen and Hinata do anything to help or would they be just on way?
- How long can Gaara keep up AOS?

-neiji is mid speed i guess,he is more stancing
-i think jyuuken works if the AOS is gone,can he past through the 1st defence?he still can kaiten gaara sand atks
-shino bugs can drain gaara's chakra making AOS weaker or disappear faster if the 1st defence doesnt include blocking bugs
-kiba fang drill could pierce the 1st sand defence and dmg gaara AOS but he cant defend gaara sand atks,could try to dodge thought
-tenten could throw weapons but no effect with the 1st defence guarding him
-hinata didnt have speed or kaiten yet,if she did the 1st defence is still a problem
-AOS duration err dunno 30 minutes?1 hour?
-rock lee speedfeats overcome the 1st sand defence and can atk gaara AOS with a lotus

so in due time gaara could get beaten unless he takes them down one by one.

If the matchups were this:

Shino and Kiba vs Kankurou: As mentioned before me, he'd lose. But if he is quick and went on the offensive I reckon he would poison Kiba. Shino would out-last him but as stated, his moves take a little to come into play giving Kankurou a chance to at least break even. But lets say Shino survives.

Ten Ten and Hinata vs Temari: Again, stated before hand. If she keeps her distance I don't see this being a problem. She'd probably be low on Chakra, but she'd win.

Lee and Neji vs Gaara: I'm inclined to say Gaara. He took down Lee at 5 gates and was stated to "un-harmed" after the match. So Lee at one gate really wouldn't hassle him. I'm really not sure what to say about Neji.. He might be able to beat him, but with only a stat 3 in speed at this point it's hard to say.. So.. Gaara wins :/

That leaves Shino to take on Gaara and Temari. Suna wins..

Lee with one gate messed garra up good for alittle while and while garra is distracted he still has to fight neji kiba,shino,tenten,and hinata which I don't think he could handle alone

Temari would screw somebody up. Hinata would have to get in close range to do some damage and Tenten would have to close the gap utilizing her weaponry to get any effect on Temari.

Kankuro I don't see lasting long because Kiba is a good close range figher and puppet masters fair poorly against close range combatants. Adding on Shino really makes it unfair because he's just going to out think him and it'll make it that much easier.

Gaara vs. Neji/Lee w/initial gate + lotus attack...hmmm. This one would be tough. It's stated that Neji>Lee and that Neji is superior (without the gates obviously). But that means Gaara is facing a team twice as strong as Lee or a little more. It would be just as bad as fighting Lee with higher gates except for Neji has devasting attacks. His chakra draining fighting style would really hurt Gaara if he could penetrate the sand. I could see Rock Lee doing some kick combos and Neji utilizing his jyuuken attacks once the shield of sand is broken. I also see Neji using his Kaiten against Gaara's sand coffin.

I say it would go like this...

Temari vs. Tenten/Hinata = draw/Temari (very tired)

Kankuro vs. Shino/Kiba = Shino/Kiba (not too tired)

Gaara vs. Neji/Lee = Neji/Lee/draw (extremely tired)

In case Gaara beats both Neji and Lee he'd be damn tired. But then he'd have to face Kiba and Shino which would suck to. The bugs can cause problems with chakra and Kiba's drill attacks might penetrate the sand.

Kankuro would have to be taken down first a combined attack by Shino, Ten Ten and Kiba should be enough to taken him down using the element of surpise.

So now its 6 against 2 much better odds.
Now lets go with Team Guy against Gaara, and Team Kurernai against Temari.

Neji with Lee without the weights would probobly be enough to take down Gaara, with Ten Ten helping whenever she can.

A combined attack with Shino, Kiba, and Akamaru would definatly take down Temari.

Neji and Lee vs Gaara: I'd give it to the team. I'd say that both Lee and Neji are capable of effectively dodging Gaara's sand. Also, Gaara was basically a punching bag to Lee at any Gate. The only thing that kept him alive was the Sand Armor, which would be extremely tough. Though, I'd say it wouldn't be able to protect him from Neji's "Gentle Fist" style, where he sends chakra into his opponent to damage their internal organs.

Tenten and Hinata vs. Temari: I'd really give this to Temari, though. Tenten would be pretty useless, unless Hinata was able to distract Temari while she got an attack in. Still, I'd give this one to Temari, with quite a bit of difficulty.

Shino and Kiba vs Kankuro: Shino and Kiba win.

Overall, I'd give this to the team. (The 2-team team that is.)
