Yes, Shodai was as strong as or stronger than most current shinobi- but there are now those who are as strong as or stronger than him, as opposed to back then, when he was the strongest by leaps and bounds. Sarutobi and Hanzou are perfect examples of this.

Shodai just trounced Madara AND the Kyuubi. Unless something is up, Shodai must be stronger than the Yondaime Hokage, Hanzou, and Akatsuki put together.

Fuck it. I'M GOING TO ASSUME THAT THE INJURIES SHODAI WAS SHOWN TO HAVE WERE THERE BEFORE THE BATTLE STARTED, AND THAT HE FOUGHT MADARA AND THE KYUUBI AND WON WHILE HE WAS WEAKENED.

I could understand Shodai being stronger than Madara. It just doesn't make sense to me is that he defeated the Kyuubi, which was under Madara's control. I just find that idea...ridicullous.

madarame even said so himself read 398 ffs He also states he is the only ninja he ever admired so to him shodai is the greatest ninja of all time so this questions your theories on the weak "strengths" of back then compared to the present.
