Shikamaru FTW. Kakashi is talented, but he isn't a genius. Given enough time and knowledge of everything that Kakashi can do, Shikamaru will curb stomp Kakashi.

lol kakashi definately is a genius...

he's smarter than shika
has a better nose than kiba
is very well known (not that its usefeul, its just plain awesome)

the OP should have picked an area of where the battle takes place...
curb stomp is taknig it too far, he mite win but not easily...

shika isnt the type you'll see fighting alone honestly, team shika would pwn so hard though

Whatever Kakashi does, Shikamaru's all, 'pfft, sorry mang, I already figured you do that, and I set up a trap for it.' Thats the thing, man: Shikamaru knows anything and everything Kakashi can do. He knows about his Sharingan, his Raikiri, his superior taijutsu, his ninjutsu, his genjutsu... everything. And with prep time, there's nothing stopping him from devising a plan, or numerous plans as the case may be, accordingly.

Kakashi's stamina would prohibit him from using all of his 1,000 Jutsus and Shikamaru doesn't have unlimited preparation time. Its like a few days or something.

Kakashi would just have some way of countering it, even if it did give him trouble. I could see how this shadow technique might counter Raikiri but I doubt it would do anything to his Mangekyou technique. Shikamaru isn't nearly fast enough to avoid it either.

In terms of brute strength Tayuya in CS2 may be stronger and Shikamaru could surprise Kakashi since he doesn't have his sharingan out all the time.

I could see Shikamaru beating Naruto but I can't see him beating Kakashi, seriously. I get the preparation time advantage but the gap might be too big to fill if you know what I mean...Kakashi has the ability to think on his feet and think up strategies in no time at all, the perfect counter for someone who thinks steps ahead and has preparation time. Plus Kakashi studies the students because he's a teacher? I imagine he already has knowledge of Shikamaru in terms of his strengths and jutsu abilities. Also, I wonder how Shikamaru would stop Kakashi's summon or hide from it for that matter. He stated his summons could rip Zabuza to pieces if he moved.

Put it like this, I don't doubt Shikamaru's ability to create effective traps against Kakashi and mount a pretty offense. What I doubt is that Shikamaru could stop Kakashi from countering everything he throws at him and then beat him to a pulp if he gets careless. It's interesting really, maybe we'll see later on in the series.
