Sasuke can't really get to close-range with Kimimaro to strike with Chidori, and I can't really see his Katon jutsu having any decent effect. With Kimimaro healthy, it'd be far harder to outlast him, especially considering the difference in stamina. Using three-tomoe Sharingan Sasuke could survive against Kimimaro's attacks, but if Kimimaro uses Curse Seal 2 and Dance of the Seedling Fern it's over. Unless Sasuke can fly in his Curse Seal 2 state. It's pretty much a matter of attacking and dodging / blocking IMO, but Sasuke will drop much faster.

Also, I like how everyone posts Databook stats like they are the sole measure for determining the outcome of a fight. A shinobi could beat someone vastly superior to him, stat-wise, through something as simple as an elemental advantage, a difference in fighting styles, a decent strategy / preparation, or even sheer luck.

That was post-timeskip.

I doubt he'd be anywhere physically strong enough to maintain his entire weight in the air on his Curse Seal 2 wings long enough to survive Dance of the Seedling Fern before the timeskip.

To begin with, I doubt that even with the Sharingan he could react fast enough to lift himself high enough to avoid it completely, especially after an arduous fight against Kimimaro's base and Curse Seal 1 forms.

Uh...Kimimaro manhandled semi-kyuubi Naruto, Rock Lee, and drunken Lee, he also was stronger than Gaara and almost killed him.

I would say that puts him above Sasuke because CSL2 Sasuke at that point would not outlast Naruto, Rock Lee, and Gaara. Not to mention Sasuke likes close range attacks but Kimimaro is even more deadlier at close range than Sasuke. I can foresee Sasuke getting impaled by some of Kimimaro's deadly ninjutsu. :/

They're merely a basis to help us draw some conclusions. For example, we can clearly see Kimimaro greatly surpasses Sasuke in speed so one couldn't say that Sasuke has the advantage in speed as part of their argument. Also, it's not a good idea to include "luck" in a debate over who'd win in a fight because then you start to get comments like "What if Konohmaru was really lucky and a meteor from space hit Itachi?". Neither should strategy / preparation be included, unless specified by the topic starter, as it would just be handing down a huge advantage to one team.

His ninjutsu bested Gaara and his taijutsu bested Rock Lee, who are extremely users of their main jutsu types. Naruto who also specialized in ninjutsu was stopped rather quickly. At this point in the series Sasuke specializes in ninjutsu and unless Sasuke could best Naruto, Rock Lee (drunken state), plus Gaara then there is doubt he would wound Kimimaro enough to do any serious damage. Although Chidori could be a problem.
