I've been thinking of the following subject for quite some time now, and finally decided to make a topic regarding it.

It's stated that Tōbi is even better at preforming space-time jutsu than Yondaime.



Now the interesting thing is that Haterade Kakashi implies that ninjas are capable of manipulating reality itself.

As for the abilities used.



If you take a closer look at Tōbi you can see that his head has been sucked into some kind of vortex. Since he isn't imidietly transported, but rather vibrating his way through a worm-hole, if you will, it can easiley be said that this was some kind of reality warping.



But not only that, Haruno Sakura states that he was able to move his body partly, to avoid being hit. This seems like some kind of phasing.



I'm not sure it's related to the worm-holes Tōbi have used above. Anyhow it is a possibility. That parts of him temporary enters a worm-hole.

Back to the main subject of this topic.

We know that black holes, warps and other dimension rifts are usually illustrated as a vortex.

For instance, here's a black hole devouring a star.



You can see how the black hole sucks the mass out of the sun in a spiral vortex before consuming it.

And if you look at Tōbi's mask what pattern do you see?

We can only speculate, as we can only speculate different Uchiha have different en Mangekyou Sharingan techniques.

This is one of the few things that's beutiful in the human nature.
We have an tendency to see reasons, to see the purposes behind things. Even when not there. You've probably slammed your foot in a table, and after that cursed that table out. No. I'm saying that it's formed that way because that's how worm-holes and black holes are illustrated. It has nothing to do with abilities what so ever.

Interesting indeed, maybe Tobi has different technique sets? It's most likely his Sharingan allowing him to do those things.

Maybe Madara's Mangekyou is a form of teleportation and the mask is simply a symbol.

No, I didn't mean that the swirl was caused by that, I just meant it was some form of symbol that he likes to wear for purely asthetic reasons. It's his symbol basically.
