If you look back at his speech, you can sort of fit the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan stuff in to fill the blank spots.

@SS2 Vegeto: Yes, those are the terms. And if he looses, I get to choose what goes in his sig. Anyway, you need to srsly reconsider and give Good Itachi a chance.

@Super_17: Probably because Itachi knew he would be blamed, and that even if he told Sasuke the truth, Sasuke would eventually dismiss it as lies and blame Itachi anyway. So Itachi wanted to make sure Sasuke had direct contact with the "killer", and also, because Sasuke had always grown stronger by trying to surpass Itachi.

In the anime, Itachi's Mangekyou shape is the ceiling ornament of their kitchen. Don't know if it's like that in the manga.
