The Kaioshin example is irrelevant because even if he can stop Gohan, he can't do any damage to him. He can hold him there until he gets tired and then Gohan woud rip him to pieces.

How exactly do you defend against psychic powers? I doubt Frieza's army is trained in hypnosis.

How is it irrelevant? Gohan looked weakened when Kaioshin stopped him, so he probably could've damaged him. General Blue punched the crap out of Goku, and it actually hurt him. So when they're paralyzed, their defense and power go down as well.

Vegeta told them to guard against the psychic powers, so there is some way, I guess.

I wouldn't exactly say that their power and defense go down when paralyzed but more so that Toriyama was being "flexible" with the whole thing.

1: Guldo is weaker than Cui
2: Cui knows about Guldo's special powers
3: It was made clear by Vegeta that if you used correct fighting tactics you could avoid Guldo's body bind.
4: Cui, being more powerful than Gohan and Krillin, could probably move faster than them. Gohan and Krillin were already way too fast for Guldo.

Cui was around 18,000. Krillin and Gohan were just above 10,000 and were a lot stronger than Guldo. So there's your answer.
