They're nice and all, but you mean to tell me, Tien get's thrashed by Drum the way he did with a difference of three points in their powers?

Sure they can. As long as people don't try to stick to assumptions that can't be proven, and go by what the manga shows. And they realize the nature of the fighters' power levels (in that they vary). Most people forget all about this last point, and think that, for instance, 416 in the Raditz arc is as high as Goku can go.

Cheers, I remember Drum did pretty much trash Tien didnt he, I guess I could raise Drum to 160, same level as Yamcha at 23rd world martial arts tournament.

You can't prove that. Saying "he has to get weaker because he didn't train, just because we don't see him train" doesn't work. We also don't see him become a chubby fatass, either. Just routine maintenance would keep his power level constant; we can't just assume that a martial artist (or, in this case, a desert bandit) begins watching Oprah all day just because there's a gap in the manga.

Sure it does. Quote:

You'd still be wrong regardless because Yamcha isn't 160 in the 23rd tournament.

Gohan's a guy who's goal in life is to be a scientist, remember? He's not a fighter. Yamcha is; that's what he does. Beats on people and steals their money and capsules.
Gohan was also said to have stopped working out; Yamcha simply was not. And Gohan also didn't have a villain hanging over him like a dark cloud, and Yamcha and the crew did at that time. Piccolo's not exactly Santa Claus, you know. |

Prove it, he's 177 at the start of DBZ, so he'd be a little bit weaker at the end of DB.
