Gohan/Piccolo(end of frieza saga) vs Vegeta(end of frieza saga)

IMO, I think that Vegeta and Piccolo are pretty close in power at the end of the Frieza Saga, maybe Vegeta might be a tad stronger.

So, who'd win?

Does Freeza's arrival on earth count?

If so, then I could see the battle being close, with Piccolo havin an upperhand since he's stated to be training fiercely. Vegeta wasn't shown training at all, and there was no hint that he was. If this is when SSJ Goku is finished battling against 100% Freeza, then Piccolo has no chance.

Gohan is weaker then both of them, he wouldn't make a difference.

In that case, I'd still pick Vegeta to win in a 1 on 1 fight with Piccolo, and the only way Gohan can help him is if he gets angry.

Vegeta, he was a very wide margin stronger than Piccolo in the Freiza Saga. They both trained during the 1 year break so Vegeta should still be ahead of him. Gohan would help if he got mad but Vegeta would be on guard against that so I'd say Vegeta.

Was it specifically stated that Vegeta trained, if it's so I'd give it to Vegeta easily. If not Piccolo wins.

It was never stated that Vegeta trained. I don't even think he did. He was so focused of waiting for Goku to arrive back on earth to see his SSJ power.

I doubt he did absolute zero training over the course of more than a year. I don't have him gaining more than 1.2x power though.

Maybe it's the way he comes off or somethin that makes me believe he wasn't training. He's shown at CC with Yamcha & Bulma, and you just kinda get the sign that he was only waiting for Goku to come back.

I would say Vegeta but not by that much. Gohan wouldn't make that much of a difference unless he snaps similar to the battle between him and Vegeta on earth when they were all wished back (I'm not sure if it's filler). I would say Piccolo is 0.5 weaker then Vegeta (due to Vegeta's Zenkai after being wished back on Earth). Yes, I do believe Vegeta recieved a good zenkai boost because he was brave enough to try to blast a Ki-wave at freiza before being wished back to earth...

That part was cool, but it was filler.

Vegeta was above Freeza's third form after being healed, and we know Piccolo was weaker then that Freeza. So, it depends on your opinion of Piccolo improving enough to be stronger then that Freeza when it all comes down to it.
