I feel the two were very, very close in terms of power. I feel that a lot of the third Boo's damage was taken due to the general inconsistency of any Boo form, and that the two were on the same level of power up until Super Gotenks showed that he might be capable of creating a continuous stream of chi that could get rid of Boo altogether. But at the end of the day, I feel the third Boo incarnation coupled with Piccolo's intellect would have an edge even if Super Gotenks had the benefit of some amazing skills to work with. He might get beat down just the same as his Piccolo-less state given the small amount of chi Piccolo would offer, but he might devise a plan that would play off of Super Gotenks' arrogance.

Well, Piccolo's intelligence would be a great asset, but Gotenks has so many tricks up his sleeves it's not even funny. Galactic donut, Buu Buu volley-ball, Super Ghost Kamikaze attack. He used the ghosts as SSJ and he it seems it was one of his most powerful attack, now imagine him using that as SSJ3, ther power and speed would be much greater.

Gotenks has so much Ki within himself it's really impressive. He used all kind of overpowered technics but he was still able to take on Shin Buu. Maybe his close combat skills aren't as great as his long range technics, it would explain the fact that his direct punches and kicks didn't damage Shin Buu too much. For all we know he lacks talent in that area because he lacks experience and intelligence. His Ki-based technics were so...silly. Gotenks is a really unpredictable fighter, so I wouldn't doubt even with Piccolo's intelligence, Buu would fall in one trick or two. If it's a technic Gotenks really put his energy into, then we all know what Buu will look like after the blast...

The thing is that Super Boo (Piccolo prime) would know what the ghosts were capable of, and know to dodge them; the only way that the ghosts hit Super Boo in the first place was when they played a very simple trick on him, and with Piccolo's intelligence Boo would know better.

Gotenks' "chi donuts" can be broken out of if the one being trapped exerts enough effort; Ultimate Gohan was able to break out of the ones that Super Boo (Gotenks prime) used against him, and that form of Boo is much more powerful than he was. So even if Gotenks managed to land a hit against Piccolo Boo with those, he could still break out of them. And that's not even taking into account that Boo would know what the donuts are capable of, from Piccolo's observations of Gotenks.

Piccolo has interesting techniques as well, like the "light of death" and the attack that he used against #17 (which I could see Gotenks falling for.)

What I meant is, since Gotenks has an incredible amount of Ki, he could really do something. Imagine, he prepares his ghosts, then he fires his galactic donut, when Shin Buu is trapped for a 2-3 seconds, he could just tell his ghosts to destroy him. What is important is not the technic he has, it's how and when he uses them.

Both characters are brilliant in all honesty, but Piccolo has experience and doesn't let his confidence go to his head (maturity). Plus he has crafty strategies of his own, as Warcrack concurred.

I have to agree now that Piccolo wouldn't provive a exponential amount of strength for Buu, though I don't tink it is wise to completely ignore piccolo's power. Any power added whether a little bit, means something. Although now, I do think Piccolo' intelligence will play a vital part.
