No this isn't a vs. topic in that sense. I was just wondering if Majin Boo lost power after the "Evil Boo" split. I own the Viz manga, and this is all that is said in that translation: "Alas, sweetness stands little chance...against concentrated wrath." It makes no mention of Majin Boo losing any power.
However, many people have told me that in their respective translations it is stated that Majin Boo did lose a large portion of his power, hence becoming the less powerful 'Mr Boo'.Opinions? |

The evil side of Majin Buu was the overall ruling side of him. Without the evil inside him he will lose power. I look at it to be similar to Kami and Piccolo. They were once one being. One side good, the other side evil. Like Majin Buu. When Kami split into two beings.....he lost power. Why? He's losing a part of himself, and when you lose something of yourself...you get weaker. Evil Buu is all the evil inside Majin Buu incarnate. And since the evil inside Majin Buu was more than the good, naturally and logically, so should the incarnation. That's just my oppinion though.

From what I remember, after Majin Buu seperated, most his power went into Evil Buu.

"Boo's anger swelled up within him until it popped out as another body. He has split into the sweet Boo...and the Boo of pure wrath!" I interpret this line from the narration (Viz volume 24 page 171) as proof that Boo lost power when the Evil was released. The term split is what jumps out at me, to split something you are basically seperating the same thing into two pieces, you aren't adding anything new, but rather your seperating what's already there. This is the case with Boo, he already had the evil inside of him, and by releasing it Boo is spliting himself into two pieces that used to be one. And in such his power is split as well.

What the narrator says : gansomajin buu ni kachime wa nakatta...bunri shita toki chikara no taihan wo aku no hou ni motte ikareta kara de aru... And the translation : For the gansomajin Buu , there was no chance ... because , when they separated , the majority of the power went to the evil side |

Still, no offence Vegeto, but considering I don't speak Japanese, nor do I have a way to translate that passage compared to what VIZ has said, I'll just stick with VIZ. Anyway, that post was a while ago. Sephiroth pretty much changed my mind with his post anyway.
