Let us not forget that the DragonBall/Z section is based around the Manga, which is the canon universe, and that filler has no place here. In fact, while in the DBGT section we also use the Manga as proof for what we believe until we bump into a serious plot hole. Everyone would do well to remember this as this thread is getting to be a bit off topic.

As I am going by the Manga, I am siding with Gohan. As Blackmasta has already stated, there are certain times that Goku is stronger than Gohan and visa-versa. As for the ending of DragonBall Z, I believe that is left open for us to think about. We know Goku trained for ten years, we know nothing of Gohan. But if Gohan still had his Chao power-up, I have no problem in believing that he could still pwn Son Goku.

I bet gohan by the end was weaker.

Goku had been training but Gohan had been studying so he got weaker like he did after his battle with cell.

So if Vegeta passed Gohan after 7 years then I believe goku could pass gohan after 10 years.

It was never stated what all Gohan went through in the ten years that passed. For all we know he trained every other day and only worked on weekends. Not to mention, this was a completely different power-up than the SSJ2 form.

Gohan didn't train over the 10 years just he didn't train for those 7 years. Chi-Chi gave him permission to train instead of studying after the Cell Game, but Gohan refuse to train anyway.

the final manga hasn't come out yet so i have no idea if this is cannon or not but at the end gohan is shown playing hero with videl as sayaman. while this is in no way a strenuous activity for him, it may well be enough for him to keep in shape.

as for the goku gohan issue, gohan wins.

It is hard to tell with Gohan's glasses on, but from the looks of it I'd say that he still retained the Chou powerup. So Gohan>> Goku.

I am using the manga, and still, i am saying that goku in the boo saga is stronger then gohan. Vegeta himself said that goku ssj3 at fullpower could have destroyed kid boo and goku said so, yet, why hadn't they brought back gohan to easily destroy kid boo if he was stronger then him? And no one take from my head that goku, after recieve his friend's energy, gohan include, he said it wasn't enough and that he need the earth's people energy. Then, vegeta said that goku was the number 1. I hardly believe he woudl say that when gohan is much stronger then him and when they would resurect him. Vegeta said that only goku can fight kid boo. Again, if gohan is that strong, where is he to destroy boo? Goku even ask to vegeta if he wanted gohan and gotenks to HELP THEM, not to easily destroy and wipe boo's face from the galaxy, he said to help then, and even then, vegeta said he prefers to use the genki ball. After goku lost hi ssj3, he said they were in big trouble, and after that, vegeta told that he wanted to use the dragon balls, and still, goku said it was to early. It seems goku is not convince that dragon balls would help him by bringing back anyone or anything...

Gohan's power went down over the years because he was lazy just like Goten and Trunks. In that case, Goku is stronger at the end of Z.

SSJ3 Goku is stronger than Mystic Gohan in the buu saga .

10 Years later i belive the difference between their power would be huge .

After Goku and Vegeta ripped everyone from inside Shin Buu (Gohan Prime) out, he became Shin Buu once again. Then Vegeta makes a statement saying that they should blow a hole through him and fly out. Goku then says in a frightened fashion that even though Shin Buu is much weaker, there is still no way Goku and Vegeta could beat him and that he would still win. This was the very same Buu that Ultimate Gohan was completely destroying with no effort what-so-ever. We don't ever see Gohan put forth a full effort against Shin Buu. Ultimate Gohan is far greater than SSJ3 Goku in the Buu Saga.

It has been shown time and time again that Chou Gohan is stronger than SSJ3 Goku. The above poster has laid it out pretty nicely, so I shouldn't feel the need to elaborate on the degree to which Gohan is stronger than Goku.

Also, we have no knowledge about Goku or Gohan's power at the end of DBZ, and saying things like "Gohan lost power again" is nothing but speculation. The reason is because we aren't told about whether or not Gohan lost power. And so, during the Boo Saga (the last arc in which an accurate comparison can be made), it is made quite clear that Gohan is greater than Goku.

So true. Ultimate Gohan Defeated Super Buu while Goku had trouble fighting Kid Boo or Fat Boo. Ultimate Gohan even put up a better fight againts Super Buutenks than ss3 Goku did.

Yeah...we still use the anime for canon discussion over here in the Versus forum, so don't just say Goku is stronger because the anime alludes to such.

And for all of you anime "intellectuals", here's a little something to ponder- Goku was sure that even with Vegeta he would be beat if he fought Majin Boo II (Super Boo) and that statement was made after he exhibited the ability to go SS Level 3 in an instant. Ultimate Gohan hit Majin Boo so hard that he literally bled (something Gotenks couldn't do even with his edge in strength) and Boo himself admitted Gohan was much stronger than him.
