Ok, hopefully I can get an answer in the next 20 minutes...
How does weight and gravity training work? Is it the standard, x2 gravity/wearing body weight means you will improve 2x faster forever? Or does it mean x10 gravity will accelerate your increase until you reach about 5000 and then will have no effect? I'd like your opinions on how this works, and what happens if you go back to no weights/no gravity. Reps for any good explanations.

Honestly, I don't think anyone will be able to give you an official answer. The only thing I have to contribute is that Vegeta trains in 300g in the three years before the Cell arc, but trains in 150g with Trunks before the Budôkai in the Boo arc.

And SR, what do you think happens, if someone trains at x10 for a year and then trains back on Earth at x1?

Anyway, Vegeta was just training by himself. Trunks was trying to walk around in the high gravity.

I came up with something... keep in mind its a test idea for a PL list based on mathematics, so yeah.
Firstly, weights work like gravity, except its bodyweight. EG, a 50kg guy wears 50kg it works like x2 gravity. The idea is, that assuming your strong enough to actually survive the gravity level, it will skyrocket your power for #x#x#. As in, x10 gravity will skyrocket your power to 10x10x10=1000. This number works well as it corresponds with Raditz's power. x100 gravity would be 100x100x100=1,000,000. Which when devided by 52(for a one week gain) and x3(instead of training for 8 hours training for 24 hours) would give about 57,000 and the remaining 33,000 of Goku's arrival on Namek could come from the zenkai's he recieved. 300 gravity is 300x300x300=27,000,000 which is a reasonable level for android saga base Vegeta. Gains from training at a gravity level after reaching it are +1%/+2%/+4% for easy/medium/hard self training per level of gravity. EG, if Vegeta trained at x300 after mastering it he would be getting 1200% stronger(+bonuses for his actual training ability, being a Saiyan etc) per year. How does that sound? I'm not trying to say its the case, just is it theoretically sound or is their a problem with it? From the bold onward applies directly to my list so might not make sense.

I always thought it was to do more with speed than power, and who exactly was training.
Goku managed to outspeed Tenshinhan in the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai by removing the excess weight, and by training under the 10x gravity on North Kaio's planet was able to attain a level of speed in his natural state that was on par with Nappa and Vegeta. Sure, he got a drastic increase in power as well but I put that down to North Kaio being a superb teacher. If I'm not mistaken, Chaotzu, Yamcha, Piccolo and Tenshinhan also receive massive increases after their training with him also. As for training with a gravity machine, I think that it depends on whom exactly is training. Goku whilst training for Namek is already a well accomplished fighter, trained by the likes of Roshi, Kami and North Kaio. He would've developed his own method of training, as he did in preparation for the 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai - but obviously he would've refined this somewhat. Combining this with the larger multipliers of Earth's gravity naturally resulted in the huge power increase. Later, Vegeta also trains with the same kind of machine. Vegeta is also a very accomplished and powerful fighter, and like Goku he most likely had his own methods of solitary training (which obviously net fantastic results, looking at his power increase before the Androids arrive). Also, the Room of Spirit and Time was only 10x that of Earth's gravity, right? So once again, I can only think that the large increases in power that Vegeta, Trunks, Goku and Gohan received were all due to whom they were training with (for a year) and not necessarily the gravity. So yes, the gravity does have an impact on the power increase, but the important factor is who exactly is training.

Its like training with weights. If you can move well in 2 time sEarth's normal gravity, you can move twice as fast in normal gravity.
