Saiyajin Arc:

Least favorite - None.

Favorite - Piccolo, Son Gohan, and Son Goku. Piccolo made a very austere but poignant transition from The Demon King to a great hero at this point as he took it upon himself to train Son Gohan and even allow that to lead to escalation (and thereby self-sacrifice) in his fight against Nappa. To me, this bolsters the characters immensely (in a good way) and that compliments the story well, rather than just being an artificial plot device of events than the story. Son Gohan, too, at only 5, is off fending the most fearsome foes of the universe, if that says anything.

Son Goku is still combating very admirably at this point, so no complaints there. Whether sparing Vegeta or not was a good thing can be chalked up to construing for me, despite that the resulting events may say differently.

Freeza Arc:

Least favorite - None.

Favorite - Son Goku and Nail. I found Nail's dutiful stance and placidly held back emotion very admirable, especially in the largely held back yet brutal thrashing Freeza gave him. Son Goku was admirable in that he was willing to combat for a race he once detested, and becoming the Legendary Super Saiyan and laying waste to the most feared tyrant of the univers was also a great way to end the series without cliches (though I have to say that those cliches ended up becoming more themes than anything else in their redundancy).

Cell Arc:

Least favorite - Vegeta, if he qualifies for hero. Need I get into his... distraughting revenge bandwagon?

Favorite - Son Gohan and Mirai Trunks. From inheriting Son Goku's mantle to saving another timeline when that person's own timeline is in sheer hell, I found that both characters were very respectable.

Boo Arc:

Least favorite - Son Goku, because of his mischaracterizations.

Favorite - None.
