Saiyan Saga:

1. Goku: Had lots of good action
2. Gohan: Had lots of development and was over all good
3. Piccolo: Piccolo's noble sacrifice won him this
4. Krillin
5. Tien
6. Yajerobie
7. Yamcha
8. Chaioutzu: Just because, he's as useless as Yajerobie/Yamcha but at least Yajerobie was funny and Yamcha had some decent fighting.

Freeza Saga:

1. Goku: Super Saiyan/Fight with Freeza
2. Vegeta: Lots of development and he made Namek-Ginyu very interesting
3. Piccolo/Gohan: Both had shining moments against Freeza
4. Krillin/Nail: They both are good but I don't hate either of them

Cell Saga

1. Gohan:
