Ok, to the best of my knowledge the new anime special thing is directed and written etc by Mr T himself. Does that mean it will be considered Canon?

I personally think that if it is indeed written and directed by Toriyama then theres no reason for it not to be canon. I want to get opinions now, so that when it actually comes I can see if people change their minds due to parts they don't like(namely, if someone is given a stated level that you don't like that you don't suddenly say 'nah it aint canon etc)

No I don't think its canon since its a special based on the anime. The only thing that is canon is the manga (to me atleast) and MAYBE just MAYBE the bardock special because it inspired Akira to involve Bardock in his manga which seems to imply that he wants to make the special canon

I've heard he only came up with the idea for the plot. That's how a lot of filler scenes and episodes were created (for instance, Toriyama making a note about Yamcha playing baseball, which ended up in the anime),

Bah, if its the same as filler then fuck making it canon. But I'm sure I remember someone making a big fuss about how its so amazingly great because Toriyama did 'insert things here' for it

Yes, its essentially another DBZ Movie I think. On the cover theres two pathetic looking blue and pink blob aliens wearing Frieza army armour, and I think its called "Yo Goku and friends return" in japanese.

No, although the game is memorable because AT ignores GT entirely. Therefore, I use it as canon when arguing that GT sucks.
