It doesn't even make any sense in the context of the series, though. See: Piccolo going from over 1,000,000 to the Super Saiyan-tier (100,000,000+?) in three years. Or Tenshinhan and the gang doing better at Kami's in a year than Goku did in three. It seems that you gain power faster, the higher you get.

Tien and the others might have gotten more benefit because they were with each other and they had more experience and I don't really think Piccolo is SSJ tier because its never proven that Android 19 and 20 were stronger than Frieza.

Yep I agree with hero there and that's only after he absorbed the ki. I think originally Android 20 is around 15,000,000. Why? Because he was surprised by Yamcha's PL and thought that Goku couldn't possibly go beyond at LEAST a million, especially after judging his increases.

So yeah, then with ki absorbed he gets to 30-40 mil, that's my opinion on the matter

If Android #20 was only that strong, then it would mean #19 is even weaker. SSJ Goku would've wasted #19 in a matter of seconds, seriously. He was being slowed down, but he was still powerful. No one that weak would be strong enough to be slapped around that much.

I'd believe you but we don't know when the virus kicked in, it could've been before the encounter and Goku was ignoring it plus (i don't know if this is filler) but there was a comment (again not sure) where they said android 19 was absorbing the blows. Could you check it for me? (reps of course)

Goku was out of breath when they arrived, but when he transformed into SSJ, Tien was amazed, so we know he's still powerful. It was stated Goku's energy dropped when he fired that beam.

As for the absorption: Yamcha stated how they absorbed the energy, and asked if Goku got his energy absorbed, and Piccolo said the Android hasn't even touched him yet, let alone absorb his energy.
