Tien: I left Chaozu behind. We both trained...but frankly, he wouldn't be able to keep up with this battle.
Goku: Yeah, it's better that way. Both of them basically are admitting how insignifiant he is in my opinion.

When have you ever seen Choutzu actually fight? Once, during the tournament, but after Krillin started owning him, he had to resort to psychic powers to win, yet he still lost. And keep in mind this was after he was training with Tien under Master Crane.
Therefore, I think Choutzu's genes or something just make him naturally weaker than others and he relies on special abilities rather than pure physical fighting, which is why Toriyama almost never shows him in combat. |

Nope its not ...they train at 10 x gravity and they trained together just like on kamis where they increased 7x more then Goku in less then a year

Goku would have no reason to confirm that then. He would've either told Tien he should've brought Chaozu, or told Yamcha or Krillin not to fight.

We have no way of knowing. Perhaps Chaotzu was indeed confident, but Tien left without him and he forgot how to sense ki? The way I see it, Tien is the one responsible for Chaotzu not going, or Chaotzu is not confident.
