Brian Drummond versus Chris Sabat

Hurray for tired old debates!

But this isn't Ocean vs Funimation, it's Brian Drummond versus Chris Sabat; who makes the better Vegeta? Who gives the better performance as a whole?

Alright so the video is biased, but ignore the comments inbetween the clips. Who makes the better Vegeta in those clips? In my opinion, Drummond does a much better Vegeta in those clips. Sabat just sounds flat and uninterested.

It just had more force in it, and although I prefer voice #1 in terms of just how nice it sounds, #2 had much more emotion.

Although when Vegeta #2 exploded out of the water I enjoyed it more, and #2 had more emotion, the giant scream just sounded ridiculous from him.

Anyway, I want to see the Majin's final words for each actor, that would be a marvelous way of deciding.

Sabat makes a great world-weary Vegeta, but he often puts too much strain into his voice and can't capture Drummond's fiery and menacing tones. Nor can Sabat copy Drummond's higher pitches and commanding, cunning, uncontrollable laughter. The two interpretations of the character are drastically divergent.

I do, however, find Sabat better for later Vegeta - Drummond's performance later on is like intentionally scratching nails on a chalkboard. But that pertains to the latter Blue Water dub being rushed and that direction.... in general, more than anything else. But that goes without saying I feel Ryo Horikawa is just anyplace above both of them. His tone is conveyed with assiduous moderation and a staggering range of emotion, while still keeping the ever prideful tones of the character subtly at view. He can capture both early and later Vegeta, whilst not sounding like Sabat nor Drummond.

Shit, I was suppost to make mention of that. The more evil sounding Vegeta would be less appropriate later on. I haven't heard his voice work for the later sagas, can someone tell me what sort of thing to search in youtube to find it?

Vegeta: In true German style, an excellent sinister laugh from Vegeta. But this dub sucks ass

Buu: Bad, still gets 2nd highest
Vegeta: Fair, nice death scream

I think sabat didnt do a good vegeta when funi redubbed the saiyan, freeza where as Brian kicked major ass but in the later arc it seemed Chris did a better job than brian himself could ever do.

Sabat sucked horribly in Seasons 1 and 2. Plus I liked it better when he was just starting out with Vegeta, at least he was trying to sound evil then.

Sabat is probably better for the later arcs though.

Yeah to me brian made vegeta sound evil through the series where chris died down the evil made vegeta sound neutral in the arcs.

Upon watching that video...I hate Drummond's version. He's sound more pervy than an evil warrior.

@ Madness video post...my God the ocean dub Vegeta sounded horrible...I agree with one of the early posters in that ocean dub was good in the beginning but didn't quite fit the bill later on in the series...ocean just lacked the emotion in the voice for me...more like he was doing a job rather than playing a role and becoming said person.

I honestly like Chris Sabat better, although Brian Drummond does have some moments I feel that he just sounds like some Teenage rapist (As I've mentioned before) I feel Chris Sabat is just better IMO.
