Who is more important to the story after the Frieza Saga? As in, performing feats like stalling Cell(Tien)/giving Senzu's(Krillin), as well as general 'screentime', number of lines etc.

And just for the lolz, wheres Yamcha in comparison to either of them?

Krillin. He had to get the remote control to shut down the Androids, help Trunks destroy Cell's tank, and take Vegeta away from the battlefield when Trunks prepared to power-up. Tien did a Ki-Ko-Ho against Cell, and that's about it.

He also helped Piccolo in the search for Cell, and battled one of the Cell Jrs lol... what else.. I can´t remember, but Krillin had probably more screentime...

Yamcha(Post-Sayian Arc)= useless.

Hmm...Its a good one. Tien did stall for Cell a much bigger feat than any of Krillin's small feats. But Krillin got much more screentime. He was the one that was supposed to destroy the androids with the push of a button, he delivered the senzu beans and in addition to that we see many of Krillin's personal emotions while Tien is like 'neutral' if that's the right word for it.

Besides the Cell thing Tien was pretty much useless.

Yamcha? Hmm we get to see his ass kicked, he gets to take care of Goku (and I suspect banging Chi Chi on the side) AND we see he's a pansy. He's not even good comic relief. What a waste! He had so much potential but after the saiyan saga he just became as useful as Oolong.

Anyways:

Feats: Tien
Screentime: Krillin

I'd say Krillin wins this one. He's always a part of the DBZ team no matter how weak he is. Tien just likes a secluded life in the mountains and is hardly ever in contact with fellow Z fighters. (Except Krillin, I think)

Heres a list I wrote up about this for something else. What do you think?

'Trunks/Mecha Frieza Saga'

Krillin flies to meet up with the other Z fighters to be a useless observer in the coming battle(+0)

Tien flies to meet up with the other Z fighters to be a useless observer in the coming battle(+0)

'Androids Saga #1'

Krillin does nothing(+0)
Tien does nothing(+0)

'Androids Saga #2'

Tien tries and fails(just as badly as Piccolo and Trunks) to fight #17(+3, 3 total)

Krillin watches helplessly and then gives senzus. After this the Krillin-#18 love subplot begins(+2, 2 total)

'Cell Saga'

Tien uses the Tribeam to stall Cell(+3, 6 total)
Krillin decides not to use remote(+2, 4 total)

'Cell Games'

Tien arguably punches a Cell Jr!(You can find the scan in one of those Tien strength topics)(+1, 7 total)
Krillin does nothing

'Buu Saga'

Krillin does nothing
Tien Kikoho's Buu's blast(+2, 9 Total)

END RESULTS

Tien: 9
Krillin: 4

This is more for 'feats' than screentime.

SSJ4 Vegito

Well, Krillin:

1. He saved Yamcha.
2. He found Doctor Gero's lab.
3. He gave Senzu Beans to the Z Warriors.
4. He also helped guard Goku when he was sick.
5. Krillin went in order to gang up on Cell in the airship.
6. He carried Vegeta away.
7. In the Buu Saga he...gave energy to Goku's Spirit Bomb.

Negative:

1. He could have shut down 18's controller but didn't.

Tien:

1. He was going to gang up with everyone on the airship.
2. Tien held Semi-Perfect Cell down with his Shin Ki-Ko-Ho, not only buying enough time for 18 to escape but for #16 aswell.
3. As mentioned 16 even survived cuz of Tien and if #16 had been killed Gohan wouldn't have gotten to Super Saiyan 2.
4. He deflected a Ki Beam from Gotenks Buu and saved Dende (Guardian of earth).
5. He also saved Mr. Satan and Mr. Satan in a way saved Vegeta's life and helped with the earth. So in a way Tien saved the world in his own way.
6. He gave Chi to Goku's Spirit Bomb.

Negative: None

Overall: Tien saved #16 and Gohan wouldn't have reached SSJ2, he also saved Hercule who made a major contribution to the final battle with Kid Buu. So that counts for alot. Krillin also saved the Z Fighters...once from the Senzu Beans, of course he got Vegeta there as well but Cell wasn't interested anyway. So all-in-all Tien wins just a little since Krillin did a few other minor things.
