It really all depends on where you put kid buu and buff buu in respect to one another in strength.

In the Fight against Daikaioshin, Buu had already absorbed the South Kaioshin and thus had the combined total of their power by your understanding, yes?

Daikaioshin completely halted this new (supposedly stronger) Buu's attack and reversed it on him, and then attacked himself in what would normally be a lethal blow.

South Kai wasn't annoying buu. I think we both know that tearing off his arm wouldn't hurt him at all, considering you can blow him into a million pieces without complaint. Buu then fired a shot that South Kai's own attack plowed through. Then he pincered buu, who looked surprised, but then vanished completely to South Kai, and literally bitchstomped the back of his neck. Buu was sitting, facing away, totally calm. The attack that was stronger than Buu's then followed him and buu turned and ATE it, like it was gulping air. Smiling the whole time too.

I don't think buu was frustrated. I think Chibi Buu did what he always does and screws around with everyone.

One could say South Kai is stronger than Daikaiohshin, but only under the assumption that buff buu < kid buu.

Well, I didn't see that part for a longtime, so it's easy for me to get subtle facts wrong.

I don't think the Kaioshin simply just give Buu power like a regular absorption. I believe the effect on Buu is different, since we already know he's not really compatible with Kaioshin enery anyway, it makes sense that it wouldn't be just like any absorption.

Which is what also makes this such a big debate

My point is that, if one kai is a drop in power, why would another kai increase his power? I don't think it would, disregarding Goku and Vegeta's comments on the transformation, which most seem to focus on when arguing this, and focusing on the Kai's commentations.

Kid Buu -> Buff Buu = no comment.
Buff Buu -> Fat Buu = decrease in power.

I also determined that the Fat Buu fighting Kid Buu is the original Fat Buu (If you don't remember, read my first comment) so.....

Kid Buu > Fat Buu < Buff Buu >=< Kid Buu.

I think, due to properties of one Kai transformation, it would be....

Kid Buu > Buff Buu > Fat Buu

Whew.

We know though that it was only the ki of the Dai Kaioushin-sama that weakened Buu, and not the ki of the South Kaioushin-sama as well. Likewise, we only know that the ki of a Kaioushin-sama is incompatible with what is needed to "jump start" Buu from his cocoon, and that's possibly something to do with the cocoon itself, and not with Buu's physiology.

Since it was directly stated that only after absorbing the Dai Kaioushin-sama was Buu weakened and his personality made more docile, then it stands to reason that those effects didn't occur when the South Kaioushin-sama was absorbed.

One Kai = boost.

Another Kai = weakening.

Yeah that's reasonable.

The effect was probably there for both, though more significant for Daikaiohshin-sama because of his greater power. It really makes no sense to assume that the two kais were so different as to have polar opposite effects upon absorbtion, and I'm pretty sure that Buff Buu was more controllable than Kid Buu, so that's similar, why not the decrease in power?

The South Kaioushin-sama is stated to be the strongest of all the Kaioushin-sama, and that includes the Dai Kaioushin-sama (since the East Kaioushin-sama refers multiple times to all five of them when describing their battle powers). There has to be some reason that one of the Kaioushin-sama can be promoted to Dai Kaioushin-sama, and it's apparent that strength isn't it, so perhaps it's due to a level of purity, which would explain why Buu would have a negative reaction to him.

But he didn't have a negative reaction to Gohan? I'm pretty sure all the Kaioshin were all basically pure good.

Edit: And who's to say that isn't just physical strength? Just LOOK at what happens to buu after he absorbs the guy.
