Kami/Piccolo Question

When they were together they had the power of a Super Sayian, but when they split, why were there powers so low?

I don't think they were that powerful. Once they split, both of their powers were weaker. Kami had to expell all of the evil out of him, and that was Daimao, who was powerful himself. Guru also stated that their power diminished when they split.

I thought it was like:

Kamiccolo: 200
Kami: 100
Piccolo: 100

Years later

Piccolo: 10,000

Refusion
Piccolo has become 100x stronger since they defused, therefore kami also becomes 100 times stronger and their powers are added.

Kamiccolo: 20,000

How did Kami become 100x more powerful? He was stated to be above Daimao, but I doubt it was by much. Piccolo is the only one seemed to increase in power, while Kami likely stayed in the 300 power range.

I said when they fused. Also, how do we know that Kami didn't automatically increase along with Piccolo, and that he was so old that he couldn't have had an effect on the battles?

Kami was stated to be above Daimao, and I would think Piccolo would be slightly weaker then him when he first appears. If Piccolo is training to battle Goku, Kami would still increase in power, thus, he would be a match for Piccolo in the 23rd tourney if he's increasing consistently with him. Piccolo was equal with Goku, who was more powerful then Kami. So the two don't have the same increases. Kami stated that Piccolo was beyond his power in the Saiyan/Android saga, and that he could never hope to keep up with any of the new enemies.

He was just weaker then everyone by a lot, including Yaji.

Piccolo was more powerful then Freeza at one point on namek, of course through fusion, and was way more powerful then the initial Androids, and depending on how you take Krillin's quote, was around, or not far from the power of a SSJ. No one could keep up with the real Androids, so it's not like Piccolo was in the same category or of the SSJ, but he isn't comparable to Krillin or anyone like that, either.

Kami stated that Piccolo surpassed him in the Saiyan saga, and that Piccolo far surpassed him during the Android saga. That means, Kami is not increasing as Piccolo increases, unless you believe Nail's assimilation somehow has an effect on Kami. Kami also isn't shown to be training, just someone who watches over the planet at this point.

I hadn't thought about Nail, but you still haven't made any mention of my old age claim.

Also, it could be like the Piccolo-Nail fusion, Piccolo(10,000)+Kami(100)=(10,100)x50=505,000

I'm not going to say his age isn't a factor, but Kami implies that he simply isn't crap compared to anyone at this point.

That's how you need to look at the fusion. Piccolo & Kami's wasn't just a regular fusion, but it was the two reuniting into their original form. That's why they were so powerful. Krillin even hinted that the fusion was always going to be powerful, but the fact that Piccolo imrproved so much, the fusion would be much greater.

On page 10 of Volume 23 / 7, The Great Elder states: "How Foolish...he diminished by half the power with which was gifted at birth!" Of course, Namekian assimilation (fusion: not assimilation, and Kamisama and Piccolo reunite, which is a more completion than it is an assimilation) does not work as such in rudimentary arithmetic, as Nail and Piccolo's assimilation goes to further. Though, Piccolo Daimao was a product of Kamisama's negative thoughts, and Piccolo Junior was the Great Demon King's offspring: though he is a Namekian, before the Saiyan Saga Toriyama-sensei might have intended for him to be more a demon than he was a Namekian.
