The TRUE Super Saiyan.

When we first heard the SSJ legend ( as shown in the vid below), Vegeta mentions that the original Super Saiyan could only maintain that the Saiyan could only maintain it's status in the transformed Oozaru state and later claimed his own life.

Goku on the other hand maintained it just fine in his normal state. So, I wonder what if Goku had his tail before transforming SSJ for the first time, would he then become the TRUE Super Saiyan (Golden Oozaru is non canon).

And although Broly can also be conidered non canon, his SSJ state was much different than the others, resembled the USSJ level IMO.

That scene is non-canon and never happened in the manga. If Goku had a tail while he transformed, nothing would have happened because their isn't a moon on Namek.

Hmmm. I wonder how Goku SSJ would look with a tail.

True, I hate the fillers sometimes. Anyone got a scan from the manga mentioned the legend of SSJ?

Hmm even his tail would be shining and would be yellow, so it would look pretty cool imo.

Okay, you're new, so I'll let this slide.

The thing is, this has been brought up god knows how many times. I salute your thinking, but the scene itself is filler. Secondly, Vegeta had no idea what a Super Saiyan looked like, so he simply used the strongest form of Saiyan as a base; Oozaru. Lastly, the Golden Oozaru is not canonical.

Good thinking, but it doesn't exist. The true Super Saiyan is the one shown.

Goku is a true Super Saiyan. If what you said is true, the last SS was too weak to maintain SS in his non-oozaru state. Goku and the others are strong enough, so whether one is a true SS has nothing to do with the Oozaru state.

I'd always thought that the Legendary Super Saiyan had simply succumbed to the inherent rage present in the form.
