Since a lot of people believe Kid Buu is quite a bit weaker than Fat Buu, would Vegeta's "final explosion" have worked on Kid Buu?

I believe Chibi Buu is a notch stronger than Fat Buu, it pretty much tells my answer.

nobody believes Kid Buu is weaker than Fat Buu, a lot of people (including me and DarthVenom9808 and anyone who's ever seen his video) believe that kid Buu is weaker than EVIL/SUPER Buu.

That was Mr Buu, not Fat Buu. Fat Buu is more than 2x stronger than Mr Buu.

Or if your sane enough to dismiss that argument, does 2-5x SSJ2 Vegeta's power > or < a Earth Spirit Bomb? Was any mention made of Earth's population(beyond "Theres millions of them")

There is no way Kid Buu>Fat Buu. Kid Buu>Mr Buu for sure, but Fat Buu is Mr Buu+Kid Buu in strength

Actually no. Fat Buu is just Buff Buu but tamed. They said because of the good Ki he was much less agressive and weaker, how much weaker, we don't know. He could have been actually weaker than his original self.
