Concerning Goku's "power-up" against the Ginyu Force in Hell

The important part.

I recently got a PM request in my inbox which was totally different from the others so I tryed my best to fulfill it. Basically they asked me if I was able to solve the biggest mystery behind the entire Dragon Ball Z series and that was Son Goku's black haired transformation in the Afterlife Tournament arc.

Even I know that this is deffently the big question which appears on lots of dbz forums asking about it. So it's about time some light was shed on it.

This confusing scene happens in DBZ episode 195 - A Great Inspiration!! I'm Ready! The Awesome Guy from the Next World

And it's shown in the scene where Son Goku and Paikuhan are asked by Dai-kaio to both go down to hell and restrain the those who were defeated by Son Goku and the other Z Senshi.

Then Son Goku fights the only 4 members of the Ginu Special Corps down in hell which are Gurudo, Rikum, Jisu and Baata. Just when they are about to charge at Son Goku he transformes into something which resembles a black haired Super Saiya-jin.

Some DBZ fanboys and fangirls would either refer it as Son Goku using his Kaioken teqnique but holding his power in not to reveal his teqnique off to Pikuhan, or him turning into a Super Saiya-jin but not fully revealing his true extent off at Pikuhan (Notice the yellow aura around him).

So it's about time we found out, isn't it. So I checked back to re-watch the next episode preview which was previewing this episode and guess what I found out... Son Goku did actually transform into a Super Saiya-jin. Though this scene wasn't completed in the episode which actually showed it in either the Dragonbox or Funimation version. Which was weird seeing Son Goku powerdown afterwards with his hair still sticking up.

I see. My question is: why does Goku need SSJ to deal with the Ginyu Force?

Its Toei filler. How could Vegeta and Goku put up fights against Super Boo and Super Boohan? They can't but its fun to watch. ~~And it fills up time.~~

Super Saiyan Goku's punches should've vapourised them.

And how do I know that the Ginyu Force wouldn't have gotten owned? Are you suggesting that they kept up with Goku's training and surpassed his base form?

We don't know either way, but because this topic is referring to the anime, and in the anime Yamcha>>>Perfect Cell, I don't see how the Ginyu force couldn't become much stronger in hell.

1. it was only anime filler, so this may not make the best of sense
2. he just powered up to the point where he had a yellow aura.
3. I consider it tapping in to SS power without fully transforming. Whatevere it was it DEFINITELY isn't a transformation.
4. concerning WHY he powered up against the Ginyu force, he was thinking he was about to fight Cell and Freeza and King Cold also, so he prepaired ahead of time.
5. I like numbers that are divisible by 5, even though I hate odd numbers.

SSJ decreases your strength by 50x in the filler scenes

Well, if the "Mastered" Super Saiyan believers had their way, then Goku would have no reason not to go Super Saiyan. Since he supposedly uses no energy to transform, burns no energy while Super Saiyan, and blah-blah-fuckity-fuck, then there's no reason for Goku not to just go Super Saiyan all the time, no matter who he's fighting. Or even if he's not fighting at all. He just may as well go around like that.

So, it doesn't matter who he was facing.

He did go Super Saiyan, but for some reason TOEI didn't want to show it =/

Who cares the most important thing is what was showed in the Episode not in the preview....And we cant even see him fight in the preview with the ginyu....So the episode Matters since Toei did changed It after all and fillers belongs to Toei.......AND who cares they where all beaten with a single kick...

So it still stays he was just the False black saiyan
