edit=I could've still been right. They might've changed it from SS to a different form after the preview was made but before the episode.

No, they simply changed his hair colour to make it more dramatic. DP410 said it well =/

Then when Toeii changed it, they put Goku in base form. People have gotten golden auras without the SS state all the time before. DP actually explained it backwards I guess, because he said that it would be more dramatic to not have Goku reveal SS until the fight, so Goku didn't reveal SS until the fight. Seriously

BTW I said gold because it looks more gold and shiny than blond.

When have people had auras that were golden before the Super Saiyan state?

Piccolo powered up in the 23rd tournament with a gold aura, if you need more I can find it, but it'll take a while if it needs to be the manga because I don't have a color manga.

Yeah it does really. I suppose I should be more specific: a Super Saiyan aura rather than anything else. I think it's happened before, but only when people were on the cusp of transforming for the first time.

I think Goku had that Golden tint only on Namek. Never saw it later
