Does anyone know for sure or have an idea when he was possessed by Babidi?

The way he was talking to Babidi, saying that he had only checked the Earth three hundred years ago for any signs of power, I say at least 500 years.

He could've checked the powers on the planet on his own, though. Shin was real surprised that Dabura was posessed, and I doubt it was for that long.

Shin doesn't know shit though. He was surprised about everything in the Buu Arc. Babidi said he had a pretty decent array of fighters so if Shin ever encountered Babidi or his men, it's very possible he would never run into Dabra. And I wouldn't find it hard for Babidi to easily suppress Dabra's presence either.

Well, those are some good points. I can't say anything better then that. Dabura also seemed to know Shin & Kibito pretty well, too, which is odd. I could understand Shin, but Kibito just seems to be regular.

Shin also said along the lines: "You don't become the king of demons through being nice", so he probably does know of him from the demon realm or whatever.
