"Well it does not matter because it ended with Buu." I know. I asking you guys/gals, in your OWN opinion, where you think Dragonball Z should have ended? Some say at the end of the Frieza Saga because it makes the perfect story, but I say after the defeat of Cell. I honestly did not like the entire Buu Saga. This is just some stupid topic, because I notice that there are a lot of Buu Saga haters. Please speak your mind and tell us where YOU think the DBZ story should of concluded.
P.S. Did Toriyama originally have the story end with Frieza's defeat?

I think it's okay where it ended. Sure, there were many plotholes here and there, but I'm glad it wasn't finished after the Freeza saga.

I think the Cell saga provided the best closure and ending, while everything in the Buu saga went against it, which was disapointing to me. |

I believe it should have ended with Vegeta's Final Atonement. It seemed it gave us a glimpse of what power good has over evil in the DB universe.
Vegeta earned it...

The Freeza or Cell Saga arc. Even though the vindication of "I have so much power now that I'm blinded by it" became old quickly, at least Cell (with his complex forethought that didn't just accentuate himself) and Freeza (who was reserved with regal and imposing qualities) managed to circumvent that until their ends. Boo became too cocky once he was assured of his power, or he just acted juvenile and childish (even if it was along his nature to do so, no matter who he was in contest with). The rushed ending didn't help.

The Cell Arc was probably the best place to end the series. Here in DBZ you have Goku learning about his Saiyan heritage when they invade Earth, then traveling to Namek to beat the guy who murdered his people. Then, a bit later, evil comes to haunt him from his past. Then of course he ends up beating the threat. My point is, that's the perfect story. Buu's story has no connection with Goku's past. It seemed like Toriyama wanted to make it seem as if the part we were viewing at that point was filled with heroes and villains of truly unimaginable power. That to me was all well and good, but the Buu story just didn't give off the same feel as the others. It was...kinda dull after awhile.

The cell saga would have been a good ending to it. Espicially with the episode when Trunks saved the future. It would have ended that both times were finally at peace.

I agree with Broly in full. The Boo arc just seemed thrown together. Each of the previous arcs had some sort of tie-ins with past arcs. The Boo arc was just some powerful being thrown into the story to give the good guys one last battle. It lacked the depth that each previous arc contained.
The Cell arc and the Freeza arc's endings both seemed like perfect places to finish. Both arcs resolved all the plot points that where presented throughout the series. In the Freeza arc we have Son Goku becoming the Super Saiya-jin of legend and sacrificing himself in order to stop the tyrannical Freeza. We also have a strong sense of resolution to Vegeta's character. Having spent his life murdering others and trying to stop Freeza and regain his pride, he can die knowing that the Super Saiya-jin has arrived to avenge him and his people. After the Freeza arc Vegeta's character lost all sense of purpose other than surpassing Goku. The Cell arc ended in a more uplifting resolution. Son Goku sacrificed himself for the Earth and has chosen to remain dead in order to keep his friends and family safe from harm. For Vegeta, having lost his rival, he has decided to live a life without battle. Trunks returns to his timeline and ends the threat there. Finally Son Gohan, having unlocked the power within him, has taken his fathers place as Earth's protector. Both of these arcs would have made for a much better ending to the series than the Boo arc did.

Good replies guys, I agree with the Cell Arc. I like what Broly and Sephiroth had to say about it, because it was not much of an in depth connection like the other two arcs (also Goku’s past…etc). It seemed to me that the Buu Saga got a little ridiculous. I am not a big fan of the SSJ3 (just throwing that out there) and I just thought the Cell Arc wrapped up everything perfectly.

End of Cell arc, purely because I think the Androids saga and Cell saga(fuck the Cell games) was excellent. I truely hate the Cell games, it's like the late Frieza battle, its just "Oh no I'm not strong enough, oh look power of friendship FUCK YEAH IM AN SSJ # NOW DIE BIACH!"
As for SSJ3, I think it's ok because it looks cool. Simple as that. I hate how Gohan's Cell Games increase is called "SSJ2" because that implies that it is a totally different form to SSJ1, rather than a perfected variant, as it is implied to be earlier on. Majin Buu rocked, but 90% of the Buu saga sucked. Gotenks VS Super Buu was an excellent battle, but everything after that is pure bullshit.

I actually liked the battle with Gohan & Super Gotenks Buu. It was one-sided, yes, but still cool.

End of Cell games = End of great DBZ for me.
Every char in Buu saga has been ruined - someone more, someone less, and the buu is bad villain, and kid buu saga is by far the worst saga.
