I think the title is self-explanitory. So what are your top 5 most favorite fights in all of Dragon Ball. Mine are:

1. Goku vs. Freiza
2. Goku vs. Vegeta (1st Fight)
3. Goku vs. Piccolo (23rd Budokai)
4. Tenshinhan vs. Goku (22nd Budokai)
5. Goku vs. Majin Vegeta

Going strictly by the anime...

1.Goku vs Freeza: Best action sequences along with many mommentum shifts, not to mention the unvailing of one of the coolest and most hyped transformations in all of anime, the Super Saiyan. It all ended with a sense of justice too... Though I think Freeza should have died instead of surviving after Namek.

2.Goku vs Vegeta (1st Fight): I remember this being the first fight from the series that really got me into Dragonball Z. My favorite part was always when Goku used the Kaio-Ken x3 against Vegeta, and the small rock formation Vegeta was standing on collapsed suddenly, and it showed him falling in slow motion, only to notice Goku was right there ready to punch him. A very cool momment. The ending was pretty original too, as Goku didn't even "save the day" as many people complain about.

3.Roshi vs Tien (22nd Budokai): This fight was actually very well done and very underated in my opinion. Good, solid fighting with it's fair share of good momments. The ending was disapointing at first, but it gave you the sense that Roshi was finally "Passing on the torch" to someone else in what was his last real fight of the series.

4.Vegeta vs. Freeza: I liked this fight because it felt like a good ending for Vegeta (Even if that wasn't really the case). Vegeta giving his absolute best effort only to find out and be horrified at the same time that it wasn't enough. he went out in a sad way too, settng the tone for Goku vs Freeza.

5.Gohan vs Cell: I have to admit, this would have been a good ending to DBZ if you ask me and far surpasses the actual ending. Everything that had built up to the final momment all made sense, and the world could finally be peaceful. The final Kamehameha itself was a great momment too, one of my favorites of the series, while Vegeta contributing with a distraction was also nice.

1. Son Goku vs. Piccolo Junior - I felt this fight was commanding and a good catalyst for skill, coupled with good art, a certain visceral, vehement, feel, and a good villain to boot, along with a good ending for early Dragonball. It was more or less geared towards comedy relief pre-DBZ, but for something that is widely deemed superficial (as action tales can be), I felt it was a great way to send off that whole early portion with a bang.

2. Son Goku vs. Freeza - It called to an epic nature that only so many fights afterwards could allude to with fulfilling the Legendary Super Saiyan legend against the most feared tyrant of the Universe on a dying planet. It was more surviving than living. That both combatants - Freeza and Goku - were to die sort of proved that "good" and "evil" necessary for one to the other. I felt it was also before Goku became too "flawless" as he was deemed in subsequent saga arcs.

3. Son Gohan vs. Cell - the highlight of that whole arc with the mantle being passed onto Gohan, like art in air. The final Kamehameha clash is also one of the most inspiring moments of the whole Manga to me, and the repercussions of SSj2 Gohan's actions (almost indirectly destroying the Earth) showed that strength does indeed stem from pain and suffering in many ways. And Vegeta's monotousness irked me, but if anything I'm of the train of thought that it justified that perhaps fighting as a Saiyan was a lost cause on Vegeta's part, and that him fighting another day might have been more apt. That aside, I felt the climax worked well (aside from keeping the Dragonballs around).

4. Son Goku vs. Tenshinhan (22nd and 23rd Budokai) - The art, fights, characters, and everything simply reaches a plateau that I feel was the height of early Dragonball. Seeing Tenshinhan at his height (or at least one of his peaks) and pulling off techniques such as the Shinshin made for good recollections.

5. Ultimate Gohan vs. Majin Boo II - at select times, I felt Boo had too much or not enough of a persona, but the brevity worked well with the choice of cameras and angles, and considering how disdainful and jeered Gohan's character was in comparison to his former self (being a shadow of that, despite that he did aim to be a scholar initially), I felt that seeing Gohan flower and win so thoroughly was great. Sadly, it was a window of greatness.

1: Son Goku vs Vegeta: I love how It Keeps on changing whos winning.
The fighting was just plain awesome.
2: Son Goku vs Picollo: This fight is the best In dragonball {not z} with a whole bunch of crazy tricks and attacks. The nand to hand fightings one of the best hand to hands ever.
3:Son Goku vs Freeza: I lke the beginning where freeza and goku are fighting evenly. Then when Freeza starts using 50% It gets a little tedious As Its just freeza kicking Gokus ass. But The Super Saiyan Son Goku vs Freeza 100% Is one of the best drawn fights In Dragonball ever.
4:Picollo and Son goku vs Raditz: Its one of the only Fights In dragonball z Thats won through A strategy and not just brute force. I also like When raditz first starts battling them and blasts Picollos arm off.
5: Tenshinhan vs Son goku {22nd strongest under the heavens}: I liked the fight for all the Tehcnuiqes And how durable they are. Its In my opinion The best Hand-hand fight In dragonball.

Son Goku Vs Vegeta: (Saiya-jin Arc)
It's the only fight in the series where I consider the loser the actual victor. Vegeta would've undoubtedly defeated Goku if Goku didn't have help. Also it has the coolest beam struggle in the entire series.

1. Goku Vs. Majin Vegeta- This fight was so intense, that it beats all the rest. You have a bitter Vegeta who wants to finally beat Goku. The fight went back and forth. They both really got messed up in this fight.

2. Goku Vs Frieza- This fight was not only a fight to save the universe from Frieza, but a grudge match. Goku was the last Sayian known and he was fighting for the entire race. He was also fighting for the deaths of Vegeta, Krillin, and all the Nameks. Those elements contributed to the fight that was so brutal, that it lasted for so many episodes, and gave birth to a Super Sayian. One of the best transformations ever.

3. Piccolo Vs. Android 17- Now this fight was unique. I never seen punches go so far into a body. Both 17 and Piccolo went on a frenzy of counter attacks. Neither one wanted to give up. It was one of the most even battles ever in DBZ history.

4. Gohan Vs. the Androids- This was a battle in the future, however, the fights were memorable. Gohan and the Androids really went at it. Even Gohan with one arm, did well enough to fight of the Androids. It was a battle that let us all know how powerful the Androids were and how the future would have been.

5. Goku Vs. Vegeta- This was their first ever battle and we all still talk about it. It was the battle that started the rivalry and made Vegeta one of our favorite characters of all time. The battle was intense from the start up to the end and even a transformation was involved. This fight will forever be the fight that declared DBZ, the best action anime cartoon of all time.
