Why are all the villians obsessed with destroying all living things? Imagine if Super Buu had succeeded in destroying every planet in the universe. Then what? Just float around in space for eternity?

#17 kicks ass!, and so does Majin buu. Arguably Imperfect/Semiperfect Cell, and very arguably Perfect Cell, but Babidi and everyone else is lame. I especially hate Super Buu.

The main villains after the Freeza Saga were only concerned with destruction. hey did not have the character depth of Freeza, or the Red Ribbon Army, or even Piccolo.

I like Cell because he's a creation that has nothing to do but kill Goku but instead he decides to have some fun. Frieza is the best and Buu is shit.

The red ribbon army was fooled by their leader, thinking they would have control of Earth (which means money power and girls) until Commander Red revealed he just wants to be taller.
Pilaf wants to rule Earth (again, money power and girls)
Piccollo is pure evil because he is literally the evil that Kami shat out (O-kay, not that literally)
The saiyans are planet pirates who sell planets and shit.
Frieza wants power and money, so he leads the large organization of retarded villains who sell planets. He also likes to blow up planets for fun, the same way some people would like to beat up a 5 year old for fun.
The androids were built to destroy the world in one timleine, because Dr. Gero wanted ultimate revenge against Goku which would be bye-bye Earth, and in the other timeline they just want to complete their mission of finding and killing Goku.
Cell has the same reasons as Trunks' timeline's androids.
Babidi creates Buu to rule the universe, but Buu is too powerful and retarded so he just starts turning things into candy and killing people and destroying shit.

Well, because it's the nature of the series. At least, Z Era - while the incentive of earlier villains such as Pilaf were obviously not altruistic, I feel they were more for drollness than anything else. And I agree that at least villains such as Raditz and Freeza had a structure to said destructive ways (having such references to universal destruction at large masked as dialogue and story devices - and at least Freeza used the "Super Saiyan" legend that saw fruition as a reason - something he feared for so long and so much that I'd thin he'd become that very fear himself). Cell's were rather juvenile and Boo's weren't much better.
