Whats epic and unexpected about Frieza saga except goku going SSJ???

Its same old story: Piccolo and others fight Frieza for a while, but eventually get trashed, and then when all hope has faded, Goku comes and "saves the day".

There are lot of new unexpected things that makes it awesome. If you cant see them than I cant help you... Mirai Trunks is awesome. Final flash is awesome. The whole story about development of SSJ form is interesting, Gohan taking his fathers place, final kamehameha duel, Vegeta retaliating at cell cos of trunks...

Another simple example: Vegeta ACTUALLY being able to beat main villain...
