The 2nd grade didn't reduce speed much, but there certainly was a decrease. That's why Goku decided to become MSSJ rather than 2nd grade

There is no definite decrease. Sure Vegeta gets bigger, which would lead me to believe he would be slower. But his ascended form was both stronger and faster than Semiperfect Cell. It doesn't make sense that if ASSJ was say, +50% strength, -50% speed, that he would use it instead of regular SSJ.

However, because of lack of any real evidence, I think that Ascended SSJ is like SSJ, but stronger (possibly just same speed or tiny decrease), with higher drain.

Yes all valid reasons why ASSJ sucks. But I don't see why it completely disapeared.

Just think, Majin Vegeta=SSJ2 Goku

So what if Majin SSJ2 Vegeta went ASSJ2, he would become like 50% stronger but only be able to maintain it for like 2 minutes. But, if 1.3x PL=instant death is anything to go by, his 50% higher power level would allow him to tear Goku to pieces in 5 seconds flat. Then 1 minute 55 seconds later he runs out of power, but it doesnt matter because Goku would be dead.

Damn, as you can guess USSJ is ma favourite transformation, and they really should have kept it...

Majain Vegeta was SSJ2. If he went ASSJ2 he would have more strength, but Goku would have a slight advantage in speed

Assuming there is a speed reduction (which there is no proof at all for), the form would be more likely to be for example, +50% strength, -20% speed.(Not +50% strength -50% speed) Which means although Goku is a little faster, each of Vegeta's hits will crush Goku like a delicious fig. Giving the overall advantage to Vegeta.

It is simply SSJ where the ki is focused in the muscles. As a mastered ssj, theoretically Goku could control his ki even better and so focus even more power into the muscles, and do so more efficiently, and so use MASSJ with more power and less energy expenditure than a regular ASSJ

I would say such, yes. Vegeta alludes to it by his comments during Goku's fight with Yakon, and even though him saying he's grown stronger by leaps and bounds doesn't mean by full intents and means that he was referencing the SSj2 form, his attitude to me and what his comments insinuate are enough to convince me of such. 7 years would have been rather squandered to no end otherwise. Vegeta tended to have rather revengeful and visceral nature by his own volition as the series progressed, rather than the coldblooded and deceitful nature that he used to have (and that, say, Freeza had by contrast). Vegeta may have been impetuous to speak, but I doubt it was so much so that that very nature reflected what he meant or his superiority complex (as it would in nature).
