He never mentioned anything like that. He simply said he's going to go above the regular SSJ level.

Gohan never used those other forms of SSJ because Goku told him it would make no sense to. He only had SSJ, and eventually mastered it.

What I don't get is why dont they go Ultra Super Saiyan 2 (As in the Ultra version of Super Saiyan 2. USSJ was superior to regular SSJ, and so USSJ2 would be superior to regular SSJ2)

Sure there is weakness, but what would you rather use?

Regular SSJ, or USSJ, which is like 2x as strong, but lasts half as long(guesses)

With this whole 1.3x = instant death, who needs battle endurance when you can insta-kill the enermy.

Now this is why fan terms can be confusing.

USSj2 doesn't refer to an Ultra form of SSj2, it means a 2nd Ultra form of SSj (as in Super Saiyan One).

By the time of SSj2, the Z fighters were beyond SSJ grades, and onto SSj levels.
