...ever match the power of their Saiyan and Alien counterparts?

For example if Yamcha(or whoever) spent a tremendous amount of time in the Hyperbolic time chamber and had say 10 years in total of pure training pushing himself to the limits and undergo similiar trials as Goku, could he square up against the Saiyans.

Or do you believe humans have a limit to how powerful they can become regardless of training?

Yamcha and other Z humans far surpass every regular Saiyan warrior.

humans(not counting Z humans) have body limits.

Yamcha, Tien... are just special cases needed for plot, just like Goku, Vegeta(all Super Saiyans) are in special cases in Saiyan race.

Well I don't think they could do it. Humans seem to have a much harder time gaining power. When Tien was offered to train in the ROSAT he said he could "Never match Cell" maybe he was referring to the 2 years he'd only be able to spend. So since humans (Not Z Humans) generally don't know what to do as far as Mastering Ki goes we shouldn't judge on how strong the Z Humans could become based off of the average PL of 5.
I still don't think they could ever match up with the Super Saiyans I just can't see them doing it. So I'll have to say, No. They might come Somewhat close but I doubt they could ever equal them.

I could see the humans being able to match base Goku or vegeta but not anything higher.

They're never shown to be possible to achieve these higher levels of power, so no. Of course, if the plot needed them too than yes. But it never does.

I wish they could and I could throw an argument if I were forced. But unfotunately I don't think they'd ever be able to go up against SSJ.
Then I keep wondering well what about all those other species that have battered and bruised the SSJ. Surely the potential is there for the human Z warriors.

It would seem that no human could ever stay caught up with a super saiyan in terms of powerlevel.

In The android saga, it is now highly believed that the Humans (Tenshinhan, Kurrin,and Yamacha) are around the Ginyu force's levels.

Though this is extremly powerful compared to the rest of the galaxy, It fails in comparrison to The strong Z warriors ( Goku, Vegeta,and Piccolo).

Piccolo, though not a saiyan, was considered a Super Namek. It would seem to keep up you would have to be " super" I guess their has never been a super human, but in ways I would say the Z warrior humans are the super humans of the earth.

I would like to think Tenshinhan countinued training the rest of his life ( which he probably did to better himself) Then maybe he actually started to brush the lower levels of Freeza.

Unless a human has an amazing power up of somekind they would never match a super saiyan jin .

That reminds me, to bad kaio never taught the humans kaioken, they would have been able to help out more in the android saga.


Thought it is interesting how powerful the humans become when the saiyans become super powerful. Even tho there levels don;t amoutn to anything in the current saga.

They surpassed all the best Saiyans, up until the saiyans became Super Saiyan. So they could beat a saiyan that has not asended. But a Super Saiyan will always be to far distant to achieve with there level grind.

I'ld rather keep Yamcha and Tien and give them a Kaioken like they deserved than have the jokes of Trunks and Goten mastering a Ssj legend at the age of 7.

Ah yes it does me also.

It would have made sense that King Kaio would have at least tried to teach on of his famous techniques to one of them ( probably Tenshinhan).

Tien could hopefully learn one of them. He would at least do a base kaioken, and probably a kaioken x2.

As for the spirit bomb I would guess Akira just didnlt want any one to have these abilities and left them only to Goku, Kinda like Instant transmission it gives him something else no one has, if he woul dhave taught that to the rest of the Z team for the android it would have helped out alot. I mean it only took one year or less for goku to learn it but he desides not to teach it to anyone in the 3 years for the androids.

But then he teaches Goten and Trunks the fusion dance without actually showing them how to do it. Also he has never did the fusion dance.

I get that the Spirit Bomb was Goku's alone, but still doesn't it make more sense if Kai taught the humans the same techniques. It would only make them stronger and last longer against the future threats to the earth.

Akira might of had rushed nights when writing some nights.

I think that they can take on a base Saiyan and win.
I think the main query is whether or not they have a shot at defeating a SSJ in combat.
