I need to go read the fight in the manga.

Cause what happened in the anime must be a load of trollop. Gohan powered up, cell attacked, gohan blocked his hits but then started to get pwned badly.

Gohan is the stronger of the two. He states that he thought Goku and Cell weren't fighting for real. He's a step ahead of them both. He did not fight back against Cell because he did not want to fight Cell. It's clear that Cell bashes him a few good blows, but none of it really hurt Gohan.

Yes at first Cell couldnt keep up with Gohan's speed, but then he boosted his own and started beating Gohan into the ground.

Gohan is only a little bit stronger but nowhere in the league of Perfect Cell's full power

No that's taken straight out of the manga.

1. Cell cant keep up with Gohan.

2. Cell ups his speed dramatically.

3. He starts to beat up Gohan badly, but Gohan doesnt take much damage.

4. Cell continues his pwnage on Gohan, Gohan doesnt fight back.

5. Gohan attempts to punch Cell, Cell dodges and beats Gohan to the ground.

No, he knocks him down then refuses to fight.

But then a few panels later he attempts to attack Cell but it doesnt work, it ends up with Gohan face down in the dirt.
