Fusions latent power

Do you think fusions can have their potential unlocked just like Gohan? Something like Ultimate Vegeto, with him having reached his maximum potential. If that can be done and Vegeto reaches his potential, doesn't that mean Goku and Vegeta will also have their potential unlocked?

Nope. "Potential unlocking" ritual lasts for couple of hours and fusion only lasts for half an hour.

For potara fusion however, it could be possible.

Unlock potentials of individual characters and get them to fuse. This way the fused person will have his potential unlocked

I think he means that the whole ritual to unlock the power takes a few hours, and so the fused warrior would defuse before the ritual was even complete. But with Potarra that's not an issue.

Aha I see. I thought he meant the effects.

But no, that is not a correct fact. It only took that long with Gohan because of the magnitude of his latent power.

Then with Gogeta or Gotenks I'd say it'd take even longer, and thus render the argument you just posed worthless. However, a much weaker fusion could possibly have it done, yeah.

...how? Do they have more latent power than Gohan? I don't think they do.

Why not? Are you suggesting that the fusion doesn't increase the latent power of the bodies? If that's so then the fusion is only ever going to be able to reach a level of power equivalent to the latent power of the strongest of the components, or perhaps of the two components added. And I'll say it right here, I honestly am a massive Gohan fan, but I do think that the combined latent powers of Goku and Vegeta were probably close to Gohan at the least, if not more. And if they're even close, then they'll still take way longer than half an hour to complete the ritual.

I think that their latent power wasn't anywhere near Gohan's, even combined. I was under the impression that they had very little, due to their life of training and constant achievement.

The fact that they were continually finding more to tap into simply indicates to me that they hadn't reached it yet. I have to agree, I think Goku was nearing his achievable peak, but an achievable peak, to me, is very different from your total potential. Also, I think vegeta still had a fair way to go. He and Goku have always been relatively even, with Goku constantly achieving just a bit better, but then there was that massive gap where Goku got to train in Otherworld, and the advantages of having a seven-year session there pushed him far beyond Vegeta. I think Vegeta could still contribute a pretty reasonable amount, but that's just my opinion. I still think it'd take longer than a half hour, even if it was the six or whatever hours that it took to unlock Gohan.

Goku had achieved his transformation peak, but that doesn't mean that he couldn't become stronger. I just doubt that he could transform past SSj3.

I think it took two hours to prepare Gohan for his potential unlock, however it took over 20 for the unlock. Rou Dai Kaioshin said it would only take twenty hours, but if I recall, it took 2 or 3 additional hours for Gohan because there was so much hidden ki inside him that it wasn't all awakened in 20 hours.

Nobody has anywhere near Gohan's hidden potential.

If anyone else went under the kai's ritual they wouldnt come anywhere near close to mystic gohan in power.
