I dont remember that Vegeta told him about Buu splitting in two...

And Vegeta could only see, not sense chi, or he would know how powerful Super Buu is

Vegeta said this when they saw Buu in the cocoon. He specifically said he saw from the otherworld. That's why when he prepared to remove Buu, he asked him if he would become the Evil Buu or another weaker form.

Back on the subject, it depends on what fusion you're talking about and when. Pre-ROSAT base Gotenks I think would roughly be around SSj2 Gohan during the Tenkaichi Budokai. Evidence to this is the fact that he was beaten severely by Fat Boo. If Gotenks were as strong as SSj2 Majin Vegeta or SSj2 Goku, he'd atleast show signs of holding his own.

Post-ROSAT, I'd place base Gotenks around SSj2 Majin Vegeta/ SSj2 Goku.

Even though there's little evidence to give us any clues as to Base Vegetto's power, I'd put him a bit stronger than SSj3 Gotenks, but not as strong as Ultimate Gohan.

I disagree, because I dont think they got that much stronger In ROSAT, maybe about 1.1x stronger at the most?

Think about how much stronger Goku, Gohan, Vegeta and Trunks got in a year. They might not have had that long, but they still would've gained a large amount of power.

Not really, it took everything Goku and Gohan had to become MSSJ's, and they couldnt even hack a year in there, their bodies were totally wasted from the training.

Trunks and Goten were only in ROSAT briefly, and I'm going to speculate that they their training was nowhere near as efficient as Vegeta, Trunks, Gohan and Gokus as they are kids and dont have much experience training in times of evil, they're use to peace.

I think 1.1x is a fair increase for such a short time.

Maybe you missed the part where Piccolo says that they powered up a lot. 1.1 isn't "powered up a lot", even in Frieza saga.
