How can the three times Kaioken work? Due to the nature of Kaioken, it should be impossible. Kaioken increases in folds, yet 3 isn't a fold from 2, so is this a plothole?

Well the best analogy for Kaioken I've come up with is this:

Goku is a sheet of paper. His power is the thickness of the paper. Kaioken is the process of folding the paper in half.

So you fold it once (Kaioken) - the thinkness is doubled - 2 times increase.

You fold it again (Kaioken times 2) - the thickness doubles again - 4 times increase from base.

Then it should go 8, 16, 32, 62 etc etc.

The whole Kaioken thing is broken tbh.

Kaio-Ken is a power multiplier. KKx1 doesn't exist. A regular KK and a "KKx2" are the same thing (thanks for confusing people, Mr Toriyama), and straight-up double your base power. KKx3 triples it, KKx4 quadruples it, KKx10 by ten times, KKx20 by twenty, etc...

The term "fold" in this context MEANS multiplication of. It's just a fancy way of saying "multiply." Look it up.

If the stress didn't make the Saiyan explode, I suppose it would. Why bother, though, when later stages of SSj are so much better and easier to sustain?

Then again, I suppose Goku's "Super Kaio-Ken" against Paikuhan would count. Using a Kaio-Ken to double the 50x boost from Super Saiyan means a 100x boost. :D

Actually, Kaioken time two can exist. The times two only indicates to the Kaioken state itself, and not the base state of Goku.

If you see what I mean.

The times two is refering to doubling the Kaioken, not the base power of the individual. This would effectively quadruple the users power, as it is a Kaioken (which doubles the users base power) times two!

Do you see what I mean?

Okay, I might be slightly unclear, so this is a mathematical example.

Goku's base power: 1
Goku Kaioken: 1 x 2 = 2
Kaioken x 2: 2 x 2 = 4
Kaioken x 3: 2 x 3 = 6

So you see, each multiple of the Kaioken simply multiplies the original Kaioken, rather than multiplying the users power.

Makes sense to me.

Kaioken's value is constant. A Kaioken is Goku's power. It doesn't compound.

Kaioken = x
Double Kaioken = 2x
Triple Kaioken = 3x

And so on. And whatever the strength of the Kaioken is, is tacked onto Goku's power.

I wasn't saying it was a constant value, I was saying that any consequent multipliers are added onto the first Kaioken.

So if Goku's power level is 8,000 and his Kaioken power level is 16,000, then the times two, or times three will be multiplied from the 16,000 rather than Goku's base.

Sounds stupid, but it's how the wording makes it sound.
