Yet you're saying Goku got a "Zenkai" (that term doesn't exist, stop using it, everyone) when he went Super Saiyan. It was sure forgotten about, huh? Not to mention the fact that he was using Kaiô-Ken for a good portion of that fight. Toriyama did not just forget about it.

And we're looking for in-universe explanations. "Toriyama forgot about it" is a baseless assumption that no one is going to listen to. Go back to Debating 101.

The Kiri meter is not reliable. We have only one (1) reading of it. That is not enough for solid evidence.

Not to mention the fact that base Goku's level is never read. All we ever get is Yakon: 800, Super Saiyan Goku: 3,000.

I meant before going SSJ.

I didn't mean he literally forgot about it. The fact alone that they are never used afterwords(except Cell) means that he "forgot" about them.

The FACT that Goku is stronger near the end of the fight compared to the beginning tells us everything we need to know.

He didn't forget. They simply weren't useful anymore. SSJ was better.

Baby Trunks was not Super Saiyan, yet he had no tail. All the fighters other than Goku that trained with King Kai were not Super Saiyans, yet they had no Kaioken.

They were dropped because the novelty had worn off, that's all. These things had been fully explored, so there was nothing more to do with them.

That's because Super Saiyan was that much stronger than the other techniques.

And Goku was only shown weakened when he got out of the water. He's gasping for air, so it appears that he either had water in his lungs (drowning) or that he was holding his breath for too long. Either one will make you exhausted for a bit.

On the next page that we see him on, he looks fine.

And let's ignore the fact that he cannot even stand on his own.

And let's forget the fact that Vegeta, on the other hand, could, but, since he "had blood on him!", he must have been about to die.
