I think though that chi is slightly different from life force, because isn't Tenshinhan's Kikoho referred to as drawing upon his life force, hence why it is such a powerful attack and why it killed him when fighting Nappa?

Vegeta converted everything including his life-force into sheer destructive power.

Anyone who thinks otherwise hasn't read the manga.
-Goku huffs and puffs after using the Kamehameha Full-power. -When Goku gives Freeza his chi, he suddenly looks healthy again and can get back up. -If 19 and 20 DRAIN YOUR CHI then you die :/ I've have several other examples.

In the same fashion that Tenshinhan's Kikoho is stated on multiple occassions to be extremely dangerous to his life if he uses the attack, the Kamehameha can, after repeated uses, can result in him dying from exhaustion.

Hrm, i thought that it had specifically been mentioned that the kikoho drew upon life force or something, indicating that it was seperate to Chi. I wouldn't debate that you need chi to live, but I figured life force was like the time you had remaining to live or something, and when it was all gone, you died no matter the state of your body, or something. And that it didn't regenerate, unless through a wished revival or something, hence why the Kikoho was so powerful.
That was my understanding of it, that life force and chi were seperate but highly intertwined things.

No, chi is life-force.
Cell: "Correct. I steal their life-force as a source of energy"--Volume 15 Piccolo: "Cell, even if I take into account the energy you stole from my arm..."--Volume 15 Gohan: "Piccolo's chi is fading away!"--Volume 15 Kaioshin: "Nearly every human...just died!"--Volume 25 (He said this because he could not sense their chi).

I already know life force is energy, assuming that I correctly recall that Kikoho quote, and I do think that chi and life force are closely intertwined, I was just sure that there was a quote about the Kikoho which indicated it used life force either alongside chi or instead of it. But I am dubious about it. If you guys can confirm for me that there is no such quote, since I don't have the manga on me, I'll gladly relinquish the point entirely. hell, even if nobody looks through and tells me that it doesn't exist, I'll just harbour it as a possibility rather than asserting it's a fact, since I haven't got the quote to prove it.

Ki IS the manifestation of one's Life Force and energy! This is shown throughout the entire series and the Daizenshuu.

I realise that. I've stated that already. I'm merely asking for confirmation about whether there was ever a quote about the Kikoho drawing life force instead of or as well as chi, since I seem to for some reason remember such a quote but have no way of finding out if it exists or if it has manifested in my head through some weird mixing of messages.
