Here’s something that’s been irking me. According to the Lord of Lords, Buff Buu was an absorption of the South Lord of Lords onto Kid Buu, so in other words:
Kid Buu + South Lord of Lords = Buff Buu However according to Goku, Buff Buu exceeds Super Buu in power. Now according to multipliers and transformations, Super Buu should exceed Kid Buu in power by several times, however it would mean that the South Lord of Lords would have to be ridiculously powerful, even stronger than Kid Buu, which is impossible. The most logical explanation is another Buu Saga plot hole, however since we need to analyze things to death, how’s this sound? The Buff Buu that the Lord of Lords witnessed was a combination of the South Lord of Lords and Kid Buu; however the Buff Buu Goku and Vegeta saw was derived from Super Buu, making this Buff Buu a combination of Super Buu and the South Lord of Lord’s power, and therefore more powerful. Kid Buu + South Lord of Lords = Buff Buu 1 Super Buu + South Lord of Lords = Buff Buu 2 Here are some ratios I’m just tossing out: Kid Buu – 10 Super Buu – 40 South Lord of Lords – 6 Buff Buu 1 – 16 Buff Buu 2 – 46 Opinions? |

I think it would only make sense if the Buu that Goku & Vegeta saw was a diluted version of Buu when he absorbed the kai. I doubt when Buu absorbed him back then, he was anywhere near as powerful.

The "Buff Buu" that we see in the manga isn't exactly the one that was formed when Buu absorbed the Kai. He's much, much stronger.
This one is based on Super Buu's power level, not Kid Buu's. It's subtracting Fat Buu from Super Buu one component at a time, not all at once (if it happened all at once, we'd see NO "Buff Buu" at all, since the Kai is entirely contained within Fat Buu). You have three parts of Fat Buu: 1. Daikaioh (which supresses the power of a Buu) 2. South Kai (which raises the max power of a Buu) 3. the Buu portion itself (there has to be something of Buu to him, or he'd just be two Kais stuck together). You start with Super Buu, who is >>> Kid Buu. Step one was subtracting Daikaioh. Taking away the component that supresses Buu's power will RAISE Super Buu's power level. That's what we saw happen. It's Super Buu's power plus more, not Kid Buu's power plus more. Step two was subtracting South Kai. This started weakening Super Buu. Step three was subtracting the remainder of the absorbed Buu. This is what weakened him all the way back down to Kid Buu, since he no longer had that huge "Buu fused with another Buu" increase. Simply having Kid Buu absorb South Kai would get the "real Buff Buu" nowhere near the power of the one we saw, since he doesn't have that boost of another Buu in him. |

SRP76 explanation sounds logical too. |

The Kai was the first person Buu absorbed. He could have done it just for the hell of it, just because he could. Kid Buu isn't big on "needing a reason" for anything he does, after all. |

In Piccolo's case Super Buu absorbed everyone he could for become stronger than Gohan and also for he lacks intelligence.
In South Kaioshin's case I can't see why Chibi Buu would absorb him if he wasn't stronger than him. |

Moreover East Kaioshin stated that all the Kaios could destroy Freeza. Not a very hard task. Wouldn't it be smart from him to tell everyone that one of the Kai's was actually able to put up a good fight with Buu? That would be more encouraging. |

It was never stated that he tried to release the sword. I don't think he was all that powerful myself. Probably more powerful then USSJ2 Trunks, but not much more then that.
