Yeah, but we don't know if it can't, either. What reaction exactly? Are you talkin about when he ran out of the way when Piccolo launched it? If so, then there would be no reason for him to do such if the attack wasn't directed to him.

I can't see why a barrier would only defend against some attacks, but not any powerful ones?

I say either could have won, but with how the battle was going 17 would have won...But I don't think #17 would have killed piccolo for some reason...No matter how cocky #17 was, he would have learned respect with his fight with piccolo. After seeing piccolo took him to his absolute limit and kicked his ass as well, #17 would have left and let piccolo leave to fight him another day.

Cell did his barrier when defending renzoku energy dan Goku fired. Cumulated power of stronger attacks would easily destroy a barrier produced by an constant flow of energy. But that's just my opinion.

I agree with you. He would've told Piccolo to go train so he could fight him again. That's what they did when they thrashed SSJ Vegeta, Piccolo, SSJ Trunks, and Tien. If it were the Future versions, they would've finished him, though.

Babidi wasn't a warrior and he couldn't even dream to dodge that attack. Thats natural he used his only defensive technique.

What I'm saying, is if his barrier was good enough to defend him against Vegeta's final explosion (which is much more powerful then Piccolo's beam) shouldn't Android #17 be able to defend against Piccolo's full-power blast? Unless Babi's barrier is better.

There are other examples of barriers defending against massive ki attacks. Take for instance Broly. His ki barrier saved him from the Triple Chou Kamehameha Wave.

It looked like Broly couldn't activate the barrier quick enough, though. You could see it flashing over him, but he get's hit before it's able to take effect.

If he didn't get the barrier up in time the blast wouldn't have pushed him into space, it would've exploded on impact. Notice he doesn't put his hands up to block it or anything? Plus, when the blast takes him through space, you're able to see an extra radiant section on the head of the Kamehameha Wave where Broly is being pushed.

Oh, that's how it happened? I believe what you say, but I just haven't seen it in awhile. It just looked like it flashed for a quick sec, then he got hit. But, I suppose you're right; since it would've likely exploded on impact with Broly.

17 could have made it through one of Piccolo's beams no problem. After that, Piccolo's energy is all but wiped out, and he's easy pickings.

Any way you slice it, Piccolo could not have won this fight.
